Thanks for the pics. We are going on a road trip next May starting at the Grand Canyon and going U.S. 89 all the way north to Canada. Visiting all the national parks in between.

You will love that trip. Do not miss some of the state parks and Antelope Canyon in Page, Arizona.

Thanks for the suggestion. Since I have never been that way, I will take all the advice I can get.

I have held off posting shots from the Arches portion of the Mighty Five trip because Cany 143 is the definitive source for photos of that area. I do, however, post these to show potential visitors the world of photo ops that await you from a tour van with little (except for Delicate Arch) hiking involved. As to Delicate Arch, unlike its name, the hike to the arch (as opposed to the viewpoint of the arch) is labeled by the Park Service as strenuous and this 80 year old agrees with them. The shots are posted in the order that they occurred as we spent the day going into the park, circling through and coming out. I am sorry that I do not remember all the names of the formations, etc.

Hi Mike! Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos taken at Arches. When I joined UHH.....my 1st couple of posts were from a road trip west....& Arches was on the 2nd one. That was 3 years ago. Your selection of shots took me back to that very enjoyable road trip & my start with UHH. The photo I used upon joining was also from a hike into Arches. It's truly a fabulous spot & you captured it extremely well! Thanks! Bob

A very enjoyable set Mike. Your compositions and processing have produced the kind of fine documentary results I always hope for on my own photo/road trips. Nice work!

I found the hike to Delicate Arch much easier than expected. But it was cold and VERY windy at the top. Arches is so beautiful.
