Pro Show will do all of that and incorporate music plus video clips. Go to photodex.com to check out all their samples and watch tutorials. About $70. You can download a free trial. It's very easy to learn, very intuitive. Upgrades are free.

Power Point is easy and intuitive. The only hurdle is music....it has to be converted to .WAV format.

Does anyone know what process or software is used to make a photo slide show where there is a pan or slow zoom in or out or and then a fade to the next photo. I see it a lot in photo journalism type documentary stuff. Ken Burns also used it often in his civil war and Vietnam documentaries. A bunch of still photos get movement as they fade to the next. Also can narration or music be in the background and can this creation be saved to a DVD of flash drive to use in a presentation or is it only doable within the software?
Thanks to all who respond.

If you have Elements any version you can make a video slide show in the Adobe Elements part called Adobe Premier. Easy to do. You may need to learn the program but the final out come will make a video DVD that plays on all DVD players. I used Elements 15 Adobe premier to make a short movie a few weeks ago of my grandsons graduation album I created first. It was easy since all the jpgs were already fully edited in Adobe Photoshop all I needed to was import them into Adobe Premier. The program works a bit like Avid for movie making just not as fully versed as Avid is. Besides Avid only works on a MAC anyway. At the end I added a music score under it. I think it comes with some free music you can use that is not copyrighted except for use in the program. there is also a program called Pinnacle you can edit your old VHS tapes with or just copy them to DVD. This was not my first movie edit so for me it was easy. Follow the teaching routines that come with the program and in no time you will be a video editor and using that video switch that comes on all Nikons these days.

Pro Show is the best and easiest to do what you want to do.

I did this in half an hour with no prior experience with the program - which included finding music and the images, and creating the credit page at the end. I just let the program choose automatically from it's library of transitions.

I've seen "Ken Burns Effect" listed as an option on several software programs. That effect has been around since before Ken was born, so I'm surprised that it has his name.

I like to see them ban "Free Download" from web sites. Download for free, and then pay to use.

Burns just popularized the effect. It was around in Hollywood as a film technique long ago. Disney mastered it, taking it to a whole new level with multi-plane animation.

I'm an old multi-image (slide show on steroids) producer from the 1980s. We can do with Final Cut Pro, digital stills, and 4K video what we used to need a dozen slide projectors and two 16mm film projectors to do back in the day. Media production has become childs' play.

Jerry, I'm with you on the "free download" come-ons. They should be explained fully on download pages as "crippleware". Now, decent shareware and trial packages of regular software are exceptions. At least you can get an honest trial of them before forking over funds.

Actually, it doesn't. I haven't used .WAV files in Powerpoint since 2012.

As others say Powerpoint.
Very powerful with the features you want.
Slides, animation, words, easily add art, sound (Music/Voice/Sound Effects/Etc.)
I am not an expert with PP but it is very easy to do and actually quite fun.

Best I ever saw had four slide projectors. Loved it. Best I ever had was a Bell and Howell that used cubes.

if you are a Microsoft user then windows live photo gallery has a slide show creator with several themes and transitions. Live movie maker allows you to save slideshow with titles and music in a variety of formats. No doubt, though, PowerPoint is the best.

Still have one of those projectors! The reduction in slide storage volume compared to the Kodak carousels was great. I did have some problems with jamming slides though.....

I've still got a bunch of the cubes with slides I like. The projector committed a major death. I'm slowly digitizing the slides.
