Probably not. However, I'd never put an off brand in my camera. On the off chance that an OEM battery ever damaged my camera I think I'd have better luck convincing the manufacturer to repair it. Put an off brand in the camera and the response will be it's not their responsibility.

I've used third party batteries in everything for years. No problems.

Yes, My Dear Aunt Sally said the same thing about putting Alkaline batteries in her wall clock that came with a "heavy duty" one ! Yep, she has to reset the clock twice a year, once in fall once in spring.
Two things about Li batteries, capacity and voltage. Often the capacity is higher on "off brand" batteries... OK, more shots. The first time I got "off brand" they stated a higher voltage than my Sony batteries... humm... so I measured the OEM Sony battery and yes not loaded it was the same as the "off brand" battery stated. I have since always used NOM-OEM batteries and have no problem. Oh my,! best not ask me about NON-OEM printer ink.... Aunt Sally would never use any thing except OEM when writing with her Quill-Pen.
My Dear Aunt Sally is in UHH and she uses many names, being a Na Sayer is her favorite gossip.

By comparison, Canon batteries are cheap when compared to the cost of the camera. My advice, ride with the brand.

Ching Chow, Chinese company that manufactures the OEM Batteries makes many and sells direct to you, the second party, customer. The After-Market Seller, is the Third Party. You, Customer is Second Party. Ching Chow, may sell direct to you, or may sell in bulk to many resellers.. Third Party people selling "Third Party" batteries to the Camera owner, in this case Jerry, who is the "second party."

Been using since day one.....Canon T3 and 7D MKII. I just ordered some new LP-E10 batts. (set of two) for my T3 yesterday from Amazon for $12.99. Those being replaced are about nine years old, they owe me nothing at all. Use them in my 7d MKII too, no problem at all and you can register them with the camera for battery info. Go for it, you have nothing to lose and can save a few bucks too. Good luck.....

I doubt that the battery will cause damage, but I have one of those batteries and it wasn't completely compatible with my Canon 5D Mark IV. It worked, but the camera gave me a stern warning about using 3rd party batteries in it. It also wouldn't give me any battery info or let me "register" the battery like I can with OEM batteries. I only keep that battery as a last resort. I will probably never use it.

I have the AA and AAA, great. But for their camera batteries I am sorry to report that they do not hold a charge as long as the OEM do.

I have and use Wasabi batteries in my Canon 80D and my Fuji X-T1.

I have the same camera 80D and you have to get the newer Wasabi battery LPE6. The older battery LP6 won't work. If you go to Amazon you will see the battery is listed as LP6-LPE6.....Rich

Never had a problem with Wasabi batteries. Been using them for a couple of years. BTW: OEM batteries come with one year warranty and Wasabi batteries come with a three year warranty
