I don't know about anyone else but I am growing weary of what lens to take to ???, what about 42nd Street Camera, Nikon versus Canon, is Crop Sensor equal to Full Frame, and the never ending photos of birds and flowers...

I've been following the Sony A7R3 blog on Facebook and find its content and photos vastly superior... the other Nikon blogs are not bad either.

I'm sure I will be receiving a lot of hate postings back, however, I'm confident that others feel much the same way...

As a Brown Truck poster, this post takes some chutzpah ...

I have to admit I somewhat agree with you, I'm a little tired of the birds, flowers, and the monthly full moon shots. I believe we still should appreciate the initial efforts of folks and be kind to all.
I usually just scroll down the list of subjects and look for stuff that might be new and interesting to me, plus I check out the questions that I might be able to offer suggestions or help with.

You know what they say, you can't please all the people all the time. But, there is some truth in what you say. There's more to UHH than 2 forums; you may want to give the topic specific forums a try, plus, you've been here for 8 months and only posted 44 times. Maybe a little more contribution on your part would be nice...

Just skip past what doesn't interest you.
(I don't view every single post.)

You can pick and choose what you wish. Okay some subjects to tend to be over done, but if you are continually clicking on those then it's your problem. Maybe you should take the time to examine some of the specific forums and unsubscribe to those you are tired of.

I've been following Ugly Hedgehog for years but only recently became a user.

UHH is just one big pile of randomness... just like the rest of the Internet. Pareto said it best... About 80% of things don't matter, and 20% do. The 20% that matter are worth sifting for, however!

The HOG is still better than any of the photo magazines I've read recently, I see articles that could have been written 30 years ago, okay they've been updated but predictably so, unless your interested in test reports. NOw the travel info I find useful and educational. Bob.

Photography magazines were useful before about 1993 and the advent of the World Wide Web. By 2003, they were relics of a bygone era. The few that remain are vacuous.

I do not open every post on UHH... just ones that catch my interest. I will sometimes learn a thing or two, and sometimes not.But I do enjoy picking up on other people's perspectives here... True, there is a lot of repetitiveness here, but, that is the nature of the beast.

It doesn't matter what kind of camera "fan boyor girl" you are. It's the end result that matters. No one is judging you on how you hold a camera, what flash you use, if you know how to shoot an HDR, or Panorama. I have been shooting for over 50 years and I never done that (I don't think) (NIKON RULES!). It always amazes me how beautiful my camera is. I am an old video camera technician and know how hard it is to take one apart and put it back together with perfect precision and dependability. I love and respect my equipment and would never sell any of my collection. Just stop for a moment and take a long look at you camera and feel the awh that I fell. Happy shooting!

Oh, but don’t forget “jpeg vs. RAW”, Blue jays and Cardinals, and of course Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon... and other fruits and vegetables.

BH, but you're still a newbie here so you are just catching on!
So welcome to the Hog, if I never said it before!!!
It's all in the post. Most of what's posted here I never read because by the titles it's of no interested to me.
BUT, rather than complain, you can post something that you think would bring intelligent discussion.
It's a user forum, so the users are what makes it good or bad. Feel free to make it good or bad.
As for me???? I Know Canon is better than Nikon, let alone those crappy little cameras that don't even have wings to flap...., how they EVER gonna fly!?!?
