Beautiful set Carol. That thought never entered my mind. Good idea.
Thank you, Jack. It works well for me when nothing better is available.
Great idea, Carol and these are beautiful shots. The second image of the orchid(?) is stunning - love the color. Thanks for the idea - we, of course, have no flowers around now. I have to go to Lowes today and will take my small camera.

These are a gorgeous set of flowers. I too have taken a lot of neat photos of plants and flowers from Walmart garden center and Lowe's. I have not had any body come up to me to say no photographing.
Thank you, Christine! Walmart is another good idea. I haven't done that but they have a very nice garden center!

Carol, I totally agree with you even if I have not done it myself. They usually also have birds in the rafters. I need to go to Lowes for some other items so I will take my Canon with me.
Greg
Greg, there are many opportunities out there. We just have to explore a bit to find them. Too often I see something and wish I had my camera with me.

That's a great idea-and a great series, too. Thanks for sharing both.
Thank you, Travis. I'm glad to hear from a neighbor!

Beautiful photos, and you are so right Carol. I have gotten many great flora photos at Lowes garden section. The lighting is about perfect because it's a diffused sunlight.
Thank you, Nim. you're right about the light. At our Lowes part of the center is out in the open and part is under a translucent roof. Both areas work depending on the time of day and weather.

These came out wonderful...good job.
Thank you, Marty. Sometimes these unusual opportunities work out quite well.

I think that is why they tolerate us! My other hobby is gardening!

Thank you, Rowedean! It makes a fun outing.
Beautiful set, Carol but we may have to wait a while for the outside displays at our local store. As usual, yesterday on the way to the grocery store, which is beside Lowes, we always pass by the garden shop to check their inventory out and it looked very sad as not a flower was in sight---but not to worry, it won't stay empty very long!
Take care!

These are beautiful flower photos but I have to tell you - your post made me laugh. Bad weather is relative. As I’m sitting here looking at snow piled on my deck and a temp of -4 degrees, and knowing that no Lowes, Home Depot or Walmart has a garden center open for at least 3 more months, I would willingly take your bad weather day. I guess I could drive 50 miles to the botanical center but I’d need to do it on one of the 2 days or so this week when it wasn’t forcast for snow.
