My Adobe CC updated. I did some checking and Classic got an enhanced "Auto" in the Develop Module.
The marketing text is well written!
Start your edits with Auto, which uses Adobe Sensei to intelligently apply adjustments ....... Adobe's Auto feature now uses advanced machine learning ......The underlying neural nets have been trained with thousands of professionally shot and manually edited photos to evaluate and correct an image, just like a skilled human photographer."
Shoot RAW, Import to LR, press Auto and get better than in camera JPEG???
What is it? Is it real?
That’s fabulous. I can’t wait until Christmas. 💕
I'm not sure I'd trust 'Auto' anything in either PS or LR. I posted a number of "Why Your Photos May Look Like Crap" articles that compared setting the adjustments vs. Auto. Perhaps Adobe made some major improvement in the 'Auto' field.
Then again, it may be a good case of YMMV.

Bob,
Are you suggesting that the "trained underlying neural nets" might be capable of producing crap! How can that be?
I updated, imported one RAW image. How/where is "Auto"?
Thanks,
Mark

Sounds like Data's brain in Star Trek!
I tried the Auto on 3 photos. The first one was great the next 2 not so much. But it can be a good start and then fine tune for your individual preference.
I would say it is something like auto mode on your camera.

We all have our personal tastes and an Auto mode, unless specifically tuned to our personal taste, is not likely to achieve what we would with a bit of TLC.
That being said, a good auto mode might be good enough in some purposes. For example, I generally do a pretty routine editing when I have a large batch of photos to edit and then select the best of those for more personal attention. A better auto mode might be just the ticket for that first phase of my standard workflow.
Does it have dehaze feature?
I finally updated to LR Classic a couple of days ago. It updated successfully. I tried the "Auto"....but I love to process photos so don't know how much I'll use it. Good starting point though...I'm sure for a lot of people it will be great!

Adobe did not list the Dehaze slider in the adjustments made by the new version of the Auto button. But, of course there is a DeHaze slider in LR Classic CC as there always has been.
