You're probably not even thinking of the 'Q' but I have 3 of those. Some of my most admired pics were taken with them.

I have a Q too and am really amazed at the quality of the images that this little camera can get. I also have a K30 and 2 K1000s.

The K-50 is a helluva camera, huh, Hassig?

Yes, but lately I've been using my Panasonic Lumix DMC ZS-60 more. It is my purse camera and much lighter. It has more megapixels, 18, while the Pentax is 16. The zoom is also farther, Eq 720 mm. May get back to the Pentax more now that I've found the battery charger. With the 60-300 MM film lens, zoom on the Pentax is max 410 ? mm. eq. The Pentax manual is much more usable than the Lumix one. It actually has an index so that you can find things. The Lumix manual is not user friendly. There is a converter for the Pentax K-50 so you can use AA batteries which I would like to find. Nothing is more frustrating than to run out of power when not home to recharge the battery. That is one thing I liked about the K-X, would just need any kind of store to find batteries.

field of view on k50 with a 300mm lens would be that of a 450mm lens.
For my k5 i have a battery grip which either takes a std battery pack or 6 AA cells. Cost around $40 for the third party grip.

Kuzano ... I think "Pixel Shift" in a Pentax is only in the K-1 .... although, now Sony has adopted it in several models ...

The K-3 and K-3II ... both employ Sensor Shift Stabilization ... is that what you meant? ....

Here's a comparison ... http://cameradecision.com/compare/Pentax-K-3-vs-Pentax-K-3-II

Yes, sensor shift w Oly, or Pixel shift when Pentax intro'd it on the K3II as I read it on the net.

My interest is primarily the static 4 or 8 capture hi res files in lieu of flat bed scanning which is a HUGE PITA!!!

No one seems to grasp the perfection of the sensor/Pixel shift function as a replacement for lesser .quality scanning of slides and negatives. I merely hoped someone else had picked up on this. Being a forward thinking innovater is so lonely.🤔🤔

So I make it 12 FF lenses. I believe you meant no harm in under reporting the number of lenses available, but let's not give the other manufacturers more ammunition in their arguments against an absolutely great Pentax camera.

Best wishes.

Have a K50 that I have been using for a couple of years, I really like this camera along with the Sigma 17-70mm lens. For ease of use and Simplicity you just can't beat a Pentax!

Hassig ... I was just going to answer that ... but as I started to bring it up ... I noticed Blackest already has ...

It's worth to note here ... ALL APS-C dig cams use the 1.5x factor ... except Canon ... which uses 1.6x ....

MFT use 2x ... so ... a 300 on an APS-C is actually 450 ... on a Canon - it would be 480 .... and on an MFT - obviously - 600mm ....

Although Pentax is essentially in Japan ... the parent company - Ricoh - has been established in the USA for quite a while - so - you are less apt to see difficulties in translation in manuals - than you will with Lumix ... where the manual printing element - is mostly in China ....

Nope not alone at all. We Pentaxians just don't get involved with all the Canikon B/S that goes on daily here. I own a K-50 and a K-3 with several Primes and Zoom lens. I'm patiently waiting on the K-3II replacement to be announced, hopefully just past the beginning of next year. It will be my last DSLR. My K-3 and K-50 have served me well since 2013 and are still functioning great.

[quote=Chris T]6x7 II, Griz?

How's that diff from the 6x7?

Come on, now .... ELEVEN lenses to fit the Pentax 6x7?

Surely, you jest!!!!

I, too was a Mamiya RB67 user ... for the longest time ... miss it ... still - I've got the Pentax, now ....

The Pentax 67ii is just the latest version of the 6x7. Yep, eleven 67ii lenses and will be getting 2 more to complete my kit.
My Mamiya is a RZ, the later version of the RB. Use both cameras for different purposes, mainly how far do I need to hike to make the photograph.
