Here in Hawaii it is always summer-like, so mostly summer. :)
My surfer friends on the North Shore say there are only two seasons in Hawaii, surf and no surf. :) The winter brings big waves to north facing shores, so I do take a lot of big wave surfing pictures in the "winter", but they aren't what most people would think of as winter pictures.
Ooooooooooooh, Splat ... can we see some?

Definitely shoot less outdoor in the Winter. Much more indoors at family events
So you're primarily an indoor flash-shooter, then, are you, AA?

From what incident, did you transfer from flesh and bone, to the much more rugged titanium, Bob ... ? Skiing accident, was it?
No accident. Arthritis. Hips, knees a long boring story. Getting older sucks. nobody ever told me that aging hurts

I shoot more in the summer, as the winters here are frequently rainy. If travelling however any season.
Okay, Murray ... so where are you, that the winters are frequently rainy?
Never has the question been answered more clearly, btw, Murray ... thank you ...
Where do your travels take you, usually?

they don't call Ireland - The Emerald Isle ... for nuttin'!
By shooting B/W there ... you're missing all that lush green color .... yaknow?
Good to know! THAT'S WHY I SAID IT WAS AN ODD PLACE TO START WITH B&W!!!
I did that in color, and the green was nice. But the B&W set more of a mood. Thank you though, Chris.

Oh, good, d2b2 ... so you DO have the same shot in color ... that's wonderful ... er - could we see?
Trying to set a Hitchcockian flavor, with the B/W - were you?

Neat, Jeff ... where is North Padre Island? ... What part of Florida?
South of Corpus Christi TX. There's a national Seashore there... and 20+ great restaurants.

Oh, I see ... down in the Gulf, then, huh?
Only 20, huh?
Are you sure?
Oh ... you mean - on the island, itself, huh, Jeff?
Sounds nice ... how do you get there? ... Is there a bridge, or do you have to use a ferry?
What in the world is a mexicali, or more specifically a migrating mexicali? Is that a species of migrating whale, like a blue or sperm whale, and why would it be something you need to worry about if you live in San Diego? Patrick

San Diego is right on the border with Baja, Patrick ... the nearest town south of the San Diego area is actually CALLED Mexicali ....
Mexicans, who live on the border with California, thus, can be inferred to be - Mexicalis ... since they live - basically - in two places.

D7000, Sigma 150-500mm.
Wonderful, Splat ... thanks for sharing ....
... er ... who won? ... The guy in the red shirt, no doubt ....
That D7000 is a fantastic camera, huh?
I'm just discovering mine, all over, again ...
I actually like the output from it - better - than its successor ...
Who'da thunk it?

After the picture was taken the three surfers all went different directions, one left, one straight, and the other right. So I don't think there was a winner - except me.
I love the D7000. I've never used it successor, but the D7000 is great.

Oh, I agree with you, Splat ... the D7000 is a helluva camera ...
And, apparently, Nikon must have realized they goofed - upping the Res from 16 to 24 in both the D7100, and the D7200 ...
Note - they dropped it down again - to 20mp ... in the subsequent D7500 - in the series ... (and dropped out the 2nd slot!)
Which means - they goofed, yet again ... no more simultaneous saves on diff cards, of both RAW images, and JPEGS ....
Oh, well ... the old tale ... two steps forward ... three steps back ....
