Anyone going to fess up to frying their camera today?
Mine's still working just fine after the eclipse...only used ND filters too.
No, but I did use my old EM-10 and cheapest lens just in case.
Wow .. thanks to all the BIG hogs that posted photos ... I was baking dinner for my wife and making

Thank You. It didn't even get dark around here that I noticed.

Even at 98 % coverage it would still seem very light. Darkness came very quickly as the sun completely disappeared. And just as quickly after totality, it got light again. I was just east of Clarksville TN where our Jackson Photo Club went.
Almost no clouds. It was awesome.

I'm a newby to this but have enjoyed reading it. I had some luck with the weather in Georgia for the eclipse. Didn't fry anything either.
I really like your first image. Welcome to UHH!!!

I searched and didn't see your eclipse gallery.
I think it has been eclipsed by something else.
I got this at home (just north of Nashville) using my SX50 HS. It was the only way I could get enough "reach". The second is a tree shadow showing pinhole camera effect.
The best laid plans... I expected to take the camera off Program mode after one or two test shots and set it for - 1 or 2 stops exposure compensation for the total eclipse shot. It was too dark and the camera was oriented in a way on the tripod that I couldn't see the controls. I thought the camera exposed rather well for this tricky shot (total eclipse).

We had clouds so I all that happened was a slight dimming similar to what happens during rain.

Paul, the shadows on the bench are really interesting. Thanks for sharing.
I thought your picture was really good and the clouds added a lot to the shot. I didn't even try because I heard so many bad things about using your camera, and besides, I don't have a long lenses suitable for such a shot. Good job.
My wife & I went to Georgia to visit my brother and his wife and to photograph the eclipse. We went to Monetta, SC in a ball field to set up and shoot. Here is one shot with a Nikon D7200 with a 55-300 mm lens.

I just now remembered that the NEF picture won't show so here is a JPG copy of the NEF. No adjustments have been made to the picture.

Hi. For the record, many here might not be able to open a NEF file, especially on a mobile device. To make it easier, you might want to convert to jpeg. Did you check the box that says, "store original" or words to that effect?
