I used an eclipse filter and captured several partials without any issues. During total eclipse I was able to shoot without a filter and shoot this.

My cameras are still fine. The sunspots helped me to check the focus.
I was not in a total eclipse area. The eclipse was around 95% but I didn't need to travel anywhere but my backyard.

There's one on April 8, and it will be total over Buffalo, Rochester (NY) and across to Vermont and Maine. I hope to be in Rochester to shoot the Eclipse.

I took some pictures of our yard here in eastern NC prior to the eclipse and just as it reached the maximum coverage for our area. There was a 5-stop decrease in light, going from an initial exposure of 1/750s, f/2.2, ISO of 32 to a final shot at 1/60s, f2.2, ISO of 40.

Mine too. I took pictures of the eclipse with no filter and I looked at it without solar glasses. Great event.

That one is in 2024, still I'm making early reservations with the relatives in Buffalo, and collecting the nessacary gear to practice with. Also hoping to be very adept with my cameras by then.

We had 81% coverage in St Pete area, shadows thru tree leaves were a crescent shape, outside was slightly less bright at maximum coverage, easy to see with solar glasses and telescope/camera filters. Thank God we have wonderful weather for it here.
