Except that it starts stating a lie. So yes, you would like it. You son of a dirty legged whore.

He's trotted out "dirty legged whore", that one belongs to FT. It gets confusing I suppose, all that vitriol shared out amongst the three soggies.

You're kidding, right?

"one who takes arms and levies war against his country; or one who aids an enemy in conquering his country."

Read slowly, and you're allowed to move your lips.

IT was not their country stupid. They seceded, which they had the legal right to do.

Maybe those monuments should stand as a reminder of those moral stains. Israel has a famous museum as a reminder of the horrible stain of the holocost (Yad Vashem) with the slogan Never Forget.

A museum to explain the context of terrible events is different than public statues of those who perpetrated them.

Before the civil war the were almost as many slave holders in the north. Most of the founders held slaves so then there should be no statues of them. In Brooklyn At the Grand Army Plaza Arch ther are union and confederate soldier statues. There are no calls for the removal of the arch.

There's a big difference between those who owned slaves, which was legal if not moral, and those who took up arms against their country to perpetuate the institution.

Would you care to cite unambiguous legal precedent secession was legal at the time? Can you? Or is it just a gut feeling for you?

I have no idea of the point you try to make. The North proved by force of arms that secession was not possible, and any US citizen fighting against Federal Troops would be committing Treason.

Nuff said.

Sorry, stupid. Not enough said, stupid. The Southern states had every legal right to secede.

Read the Articles of Confederation (a founding document)

Then get someone to read this to you, stupid.

Their "right" to seceed was one of the fundamental questions of the war.

Even after they 'seceded,' they accepted Federal services such as the Federal Post Office.

It's an old and settled question now, but there is and there was no question the the South committed Treason.

Lee accepting command in the Southern Army was certainly treason.

Prove it was treason. Show, legally where it was treason. You are a liar.

Rommel fought for Germany. He did not take up arms against Germany. Lee is different and Davis is real different.

Not really a 21st century thing, probably wasn't happening in FDRs time but I have to believe that many people considered him a traitor right after the war. As many people as were killed I can't believe that he was seen as a hero by everyone. I don't really have strong feelings about it but it never (20th century) really has made sense to me that we honor the worst threat our nation has ever faced.

Robert E. Lee is still studied in American War Colleges today.

Well before the civil war. All Northern states had passed laws abolishing slavery by 1804.

That is a lie. You know it is a lie. They did no such thing. There were still slave holding states in the North after the war was over! U.S. Grant owned slaves immediately after the war was over. That is a FACT. When Lincoln issued the so-called Emancipation Proclamation (which he probably had no legal right to do) he only freed the slaves in the Southern States. You are a liar.

Your first two links say no right to secede. The last link:" because secession is not prohibited by the constitution it implies secession is legal". This is all very ambiguous and treasonous.

I'm guessing you call it "the war of northern aggression".

Don't you figure that the History had already been cleaned up a bunch before either one of us had even heard of the war.

I am guessing you are very stupid.
