The last two times I have ordered an item from Adorama, the ad states that they will ship it same day as long as I order before 8:00 eastern time. Both times my order was placed in the morning, yet even though they say there is free expedited delivery they have not shipped the item for nearly two days. The latest item (Nikon 16-80 f2.8/4) was ordered on Tue morning yet not shipped until late Wed night, so it will not be here until Monday evening. I'm not in a rush for it, but ordering an item that has a claimed expedited delivery and not receiving it for almost a week seems to me to be false advertising. Any one else have this experience?

I'm surprised how much I'm intrigued whenever someone uses a public forum to criticize a reputable company before checking with that company first.

I'm surprised that you think it is ok to critisize me without knowing the facts. I did contact them about this.....but then you know what they say about assuming things. That pretty much describes you.
Same thing happened to me.

Makes me wonder what else you left out of the story. What was their response?

Their response was that because of a high volumn of orders, there was a delay in it's processing. Let me say here that I will continue to use Adorama and believe them to be a reputable, customer service oriented company. I have spent many, many, thousands of dollars with them and will continue to do so. I would just like to see a little more effort to deliver on their claim of same day processing.

If you read my words, you might see I was criticizing myself for being so interested in the always ongoing disputes between buyers and who the choose to buy from. Further, I have no basis to criticize you because I know nothing about you. I know more about Adorama and their competitors so I "ass"ume they really do care about their service, products, customers and employees.
That's a very nice lens. I'm truly sorry it is a weekend late.

Why are you surprised? Do you feel that "reputable" companies are above reproach and not subject to criticism. I like Adorama, B&H, Cameta and Amazon to name a few. But from time to time their customer service falls short. According to you, I shouldn't mention that on an open forum until I further contact the company. Utter poppycock.

I guess I don't write well. I didn't write that it was right or wrong to criticize Adorama. I wrote that I was intrigued that I find it interesting to follow threads that open with a theme where someone feels they were treated badly. Let me try to rephrase..... I'm intrigued by the power of the internet, where single consumers can use a public forum get attention for perceived or actual commercial abuse.
No, I'm not surprised that it happens. The surprise I wrote about is how I'm interested ("intrigued")in how the story plays out.

I was concerned to read both your description of your experience, and also the quoted CS response - as it doesn't make sense.....In the period between Black Friday and Christmas, yes....but not in March!
We don't promise to ship all orders received by 8pm ET the same day - we commit to making every effort to do so.
But delays can be caused by the weather (eg Tuesday last week UPS could not get any trucks to our warehouse location in NJ due to the heavy snowfalls), or delays in ID verification.
All that being said, I'd welcome the opportunity to double-check what happened here. Can you please email me: Helen@adorama.com, with your order # and it will have my early attention.
"the ad states that they will ship it same day as long as I order before 8:00 eastern time."
I looked all over the Adorama site, including the page for the lens and the shipping policy page. I can't find any advertising that guarantees same day shipping. Can you point to where that ad is?

You should include that language in your website.

I just placed an order online. When will I receive my merchandise?
Adorama Camera makes every effort to get your order to you as soon as possible. Most orders for in-stock items placed on business days are generally shipped the same day (subject to verification, click here for details). If there is a problem with your order, you will receive an e-mail within one business day to advise you about the situation.
Used items:
Most orders get shipped the same day if received, processed and verified by 1:00 P.M. ET (Eastern Time) Monday - Thursday, and before 8:30 A.M. ET (Eastern Time) on Friday. Orders received after these times or those which require verification (see below) will be processed the next business day.
Delivery of TVs and other oversized items:
Oversize items like large televisions, which ship by truck, might ship a day later.

Your ad banner says: "VIP360-2 Day Delivery on thousands of items" There is nothing in that statement that suggests the 2-day delivery is really a "soon as possible effort". In my mind this should be stated up front and not buried somewhere else in the website.
Best,
Jason
