Well, David Campbell, you have a very big mouth, and you have no idea what you are talking about.

You did an awful lot of wasted typing. You seem to have memorized the entire song and dance routine pertaining to one type of scenario that sometimes occurs regarding some customers and results in some of their complaints.

However, nothing which you blabber mouthed endlessly about in any way pertained to my personal issues w/Adorama. Maybe you should mind your own business.

Ahhh, well you seem to feel that everybody is out to attack you. Helen has attempted to help you and all you did was rant about her. Now you are ranting about me. Have a great day feeling sorry for your putrid self.

Thank you for your thoughtful post.

Even after 9 years plus working for Adorama, I'm still astonished that grown men feel it's OK to use the Internet as a personal weapon of destruction against a business or an individual.

I often wonder, if I was standing at a bus stop or another public place, is it conceivable that would I be subjected to such an attack, verbally?

Not to worry; a brief search of UHH archives (links below), reveals that it is a minority view! Mistakes and mess-ups happen in every business because we are all human and humans don't always get everything 100% right 100% of the time; it's how the business responds and makes things right that really defines the commitment of the business to customer service.

By the way, I ignored him (the first on here that I've ever done that to. I didn't want the name calling to go further either way.

Helen, I understand completely. I retired from Nikon USA about 4 years ago and, while mainly, I dealt with very thoughtful and understanding clients in the NPS group, during the holidays, I got to help with the general call in public. I've heard all kinds or issues, from the gal that purchased a Nikon 1 and it's kit lenses because she was going to photography weddings and had physical issues that limited her camera usage and she was going to sue Nikon because the Nikon 1 got her laughed at when she showed up to photo her first wedding to the guy that was going to sue Nikon because his car and camera equipment rolled down an embankment and the gear was ruined. He was upset that this new D800 and various lenses weren't water proof. The last thing in the world I wanted to do was to just say "contact our legal department" and hang up. Most of the camera issues (both professional and amateur) were honest issues where either the customer misread the manual and I went back through it with them so that they understood it or where they had real issues that we needed to either help them fix over the phone or they needed to send the camera or equipment in for service. Most were understanding but you got the occasional "everybody's wrong but me", type.

I'm not putrid, I told you the truth. Helen did not attempt to help me, she said my claims were fictitious.
Campbell, you're a Jack Ass, grow up and mind your own business. Nothing that you ever say is valid.
You are a fool.

I did not say that all your claims were fictitious.

You have my email address, and it is sprinkled liberally through this thread - you (and any other UHH member) is welcome to contact me day or night for assistance. If I am online, I will do my best to help you immediately. For further reference: Helen@adorama.com

However, you cannot deny that you stated:

BIG ROB wrote: "Adorama is always trying to make an extra couple of bucks off you...unlike B&H". Your comment appeared to be in relation to the VIP360 service. Therefore I stated: "our dislike of everyone who works for Adorama Camera is clear; however, some of your claims are not only outrageous, but a work of fiction".

Adorama Camera is NOT "always trying to make an extra couple of bucks off you". This comment is a work of fiction.

Hellen, I do not choose to become involved with you further. You response is in DOUBLE SPEAK: You state to me in the previous post that "my claims are not only outrageous, but a work of fiction" and now, here you state that:
HelenOster wrote:

You further state that you thought that I had been: in relation to the VIP360 service. (Which it had nothing to do w/.)

And then, you finish by stating: Adorama Camera is NOT "always trying to make an extra couple of bucks off you". This comment is a work of fiction.

Well, I simply do not agree with your thin, and chintzy defense of your store. Over the past more than forty years of doing business with both B&H and Adorama, I have always been left with a rather annoyed feeling from Adorama, Both in dealing with their Salespeople over the Telephone, when shopping for some product, and also,
after navigating on their rather convoluted web site, with all of it's endless arrays of "packages".

Where the same model camera is repeatedly offered for sale, with so very many endless combinations, of rather useless, low quality accessories that it makes it very difficult for the customer who's simply shopping for the manufacturer's camera body and lens to even be able to find them offered for sale in that normal configuration; due to Adorama's website being littered with so many "junk package" configurations, which Adorama is so desperately attempting to pick their shopper's pocket's with, all of these unnecessary and sometimes somewhat ridiculous "package deals", that they're known for peddling.

B&H does not do this...

I will try again.

1. I did not say that ALL your claims were fictitious.

2. I welcome the opportunity to explain why we choose to offer the bundles.
Manufacturers frequently restrict companies like Adorama from selling camera bodies and lenses below a Minimum Price (sometimes referred to as MAP or MSRP or Unilateral Pricing).
With ‘Unilateral Pricing, we are not permitted to “sell” below the manufacturer’s price point; if we did so, we would be penalised heavily by losing access to the discounts that we want to pass on to our customers – or even by losing the right to sell an item altogether.
However, we are permitted to advertise below this minimum if sold as part of a kit. The items that are in the kit/the cost to us of the kit don’t have to be specified, nor how much % of the total cost that those items account for in the kit. That is why you might see crazy offers with cheap filters, micro fiber cloths, and cheap camera bags being offered, together with top end equipment.
