Your ad banner says: "VIP360-2 Day Delivery on thousands of items" There is nothing in that statement that suggests the 2-day delivery is really a "soon as possible effort". In my mind this should be stated up front and not buried somewhere else in the website.

Best,

Jason

That is for customers who are paid-up members of Adorama VIP360.

Upon checking the order I see that shutterbob's order came into our system a little after 6:00 pm on Tuesday March 21st. It shipped 1-3 business days, on Wednesday March 22nd. The 3rd business day will be Monday 27th.

Upon checking the UPS website, I can confirm it is scheduled for delivery Monday, 27/03/2017, By End of Day

Thank you for the details, Helen. 6 p.m. does not equate to morning for most of us out west. I've just learned that if I want same-week delivery from the east coast we have to order on Monday or move to New York.

I'm not sure I understand....? We ship to over 200 countries worldwide, but our warehouse workers work Eastern time hours. If you order on Saturday or Sunday your order will ship Monday - you can also request overnight or 2-day shipping.

I have dealt with Adorama on several occasions. I usually order in the morning, sometimes before they open I only live about 250 miles away. I have had many item delivered the next day via UPS.

The last two times I have ordered an item from Adorama, the ad states that they will ship it same day as long as I order before 8:00 eastern time. Both times my order was placed in the morning, yet even though they say there is free expedited delivery they have not shipped the item for nearly two days. The latest item (Nikon 16-80 f2.8/4) was ordered on Tue morning yet not shipped until late Wed night, so it will not be here until Monday evening. I'm not in a rush for it, but ordering an item that has a claimed expedited delivery and not receiving it for almost a week seems to me to be false advertising. Any one else have this experience?

I have had this problem also from them. That is why I use BH mostly now.

I'm surprised how much I'm intrigued whenever someone uses a public forum to criticize a reputable company before checking with that company first.

Stating actual facts and experiences has nothing to do with criticizing.

I have found when time mentioned on a site it is that sites LOCAL TIME, not your local time that is how the world works.

But the OP was mistaken! His order cleared order verification too late EASTERN TIME - where we are located, same as B&H - to ship the same day.
So it shipped the following day. And it will be delivered to AZ on the third business day. We did nothing wrong here.

It may be an experience, but it is NOT a fact!

My only problem with Adorama (and this applies to B&H and others too) is that they have started using the "less expensive" FedEx to US Post office or UPS to US Post office form of default shipping (and often call it "free expedited" shipping). The problem with it is that, while I can track the package to the point where it enters the USPS. The post office tends to lose or miss deliver the packages. They shipped a couple of hundred dollars of filters and lens caps to me via the "expedited free" shipping. The package was tracked to Clearwater Fl. via FedEx then dropped into the US mail. The postman delivered it to the wrong address. The USPS stated that they could NOT track the package and they were sorry that I was "just out the money as there was nothing we can do". I contacted Adorama and explained (I think it was actually Helen that worked with me) the problem. They (she) said to give it a couple of more days and they would resend the items. Two days later, the people who had received the package in error sent the opened package (on their dime) to me in a separate box. I called Adorama and told them so that they wouldn't ship replacements. Everything turned out well but if Adorama and the others would quit using the FedEx or UPS to USPS option for items and just ship them directly and correctly, it would eliminate a lot of problems. AND, the items could be tracked from shipper to receiver without issues. As I said, this is a common problem with many companies looking for less expensive ways to provide service. But this is more of a problem than a service. By the way... a big part of the problem here is the postman for our area is a moron that probably isn't qualified to walk across the street unaided. He miss-delivered a birthday card across the street from me 4 separate times. Finally the guy across the street showed it to me (the postman had just dropped it in his mailbox the 4th time) so I took it and caught the postman. I showed him the card (which was correctly addressed to a house 11 blocks away in a different zipcode). I pointed out that the address wasn't even close to where he had delivered it the last 4 times. So, he took the card, drew a line across the (correct) address, and wrote "NO LONGER AT THIS ADDRESS, RETURN TO SENDER" across the envelope. It was the correct address it was just a stupid postman that was too lazy or inept to do his job correctly. It also goes back to the idiot that was sorting the mail and possibly even the one that sent it to the wrong post office.

While I do empathise, retailers have only 4 choices when supplying more costly shipping methods: charge customers for them; charge more for goods; cut staff (or wages); make less profit.

Profit on cameras is already wafer-thin; I'm wouldn't be thrilled at the possibility of being laid-off & I'm sure my colleagues feel the same; charging more for goods is restricted by manufacturers.
That leaves getting customers to pay more for more costly (more reliable?) shipping methods. And we can do that; customers just need to select paid-for shipping at checkout!

Bit of a devil-and-the-deep-blue-sea situation, no?

I have set up with the USPS to get notifications on any package that enters the USPS system with where and when delivered. Knock on wood, I have not had a problem with items entering into the USPS system from FedEx or USP

I agree Helen and as I said before, I really appreciated all of your help in the issue. I was in no way throwing rocks at the problem, HOWEVER, if the "customers" meaning shippers complain to FedEx, UPS, and then they (FedEx/UPS) complain to the USPS, hopefully they would resolve the issue. Having said that, I have no issues paying the difference between "free shipping via however the USPS deems to lose it" and guaranteed delivery by someone who can read and actually get it there.
