I agree Helen and as I said before, I really appreciated all of your help in the issue. I was in no way throwing rocks at the problem, HOWEVER, if the "customers" meaning shippers complain to FedEx, UPS, and then they (FedEx/UPS) complain to the USPS, hopefully they would resolve the issue. Having said that, I have no issues paying the difference between "free shipping via however the USPS deems to lose it" and guaranteed delivery by someone who can read and actually get it there.

You must remember that all retail businesses are driven by profit, some focus more on it and others a little less. I find myself frustrated at times by the economy carrier to USPS shipping method because I live in a rural area and it usually means an additional day shipping for me. I've not had issues of lost deliveries or anything its just the wait. I feel fortunate to have companies like Adorama and B&H as I have no local camera store so having gear delivered to my door knowing I have good customer service if I have issues means a lot to me.
Shipping choices are mine, I know going in (as has been stated above living out west) it will take 4-5 days to get products so if I want it faster there are options offered at checkout for me to choose. would I rather they shipped faster ... yes, do I wish they wouldn't use the joint shipping method .... yep, do I know if I want it faster I can get it faster ... yes again. So ultimately it's my decision when it arrives and if I have an issue I know I have a good company behind me to make it right, that's worth more than free shipping to me. BTW I just ordered a new D750 (traded in gear to get it, another service I wouldn't have without companies like these) and lens from Adorama yesterday afternoon about 4:PM west coast time ... I'll update how it's shipped and when it arrives for everyone here.

That is one reason to shop B&H.

I am a very patient person who has ordered from time to time from Adorama with no complaints regarding shipping time. However, I have ordered from Crutchfield many times and have received delivery in 2days(Maryland to New York City).

Yea, I've bought several thousands of dollars of photographic equipment through Adorama over a period of the last four years. I believe they have some serious problems there. I recently canceled orders and switched to B&H which will be my photo equipment purchases into the future. I've had a lot of trouble with how Adorama treats their customers regarding shipping dates, times and availability of items. Not anymore. B&H does a fine job working with you. I will always go to B&H from now on.

Not true! B&H does EXACTLY the same thing, as do most other companies. I buy stuff for my motorcycle from J&P and other cycle providers and they do the same thing if you don't pay for additional shipping. It isn't just Adorama or Amazon or any particular company but IF all of these "customers" put pressure on FedEx and UPS then they would in turn put pressure on the US postal service (USPS) to fix their issues. Too long, has the Post Office considered themselves entitled and above having to provide average or better service.

What is? Plenty of excellent reasons to shop at B&H, but if an order arrived into their system - or any retailers's system - after the shipping cut-off time, it would ship the following day.

And 3 business days is 3 business days, whoever you order from.

I will state again: the OP was mistaken.

I do believe that UPS and the USPO could do a better job of providing the service we pay for. We all need to push them for better service on shipments.

The biggest reason for posts like this is that too many people only see what they want to see. The devil is in the details, and if anybody just skins over the information provided the devil will jump up and bite them in the ass.

Yes and no. What many do not know is that parcel delivery services will sometimes use the USPS to finish their deliveries. I'm not defending the USPS-- but their mandate is no longer sustainable.

Why do you complain to UH instead of Adorama?

I agree that that same day ship routine is an overstatement but I still prefer them over B&H. I also like Amazon.

If there are many that don't know this, they have to be the same bunch that don't read enough to know what a store's shipping policy is all about.

BTW - what makes you think many people don't know this?

My "surprise" and "intrigue" are being rewarded!

There is wrenching change in retail everywhere! Pennys and Sears are shutting down. If you want to touch, feel, see and buy a Nikon D7200, they have them at Costco! And, there are a lot more Costcos than camera stores now. The only store where I can walk out with a cartridge for my Canon printer requires two and half hours of driving in Seattle's worst traffic.

Thank you Helen, Adorama (and others) for learning how to make internet shopping work!
