When I started they were made of aluminum and had screw on tops.

Guess we are showing our age. I was going to ask if anyone recalled the aluminum film canisters with screw tops.

I fill them up with quarters. I also use them for small parts like tiny screws.

Hell, I can remember when the film came in metal containers. I kept my drugs in them. Then under my truck seat held in place between the springs!

Same as OldEarl,...I taped two of them "bottom to bottom" with duct tape,....many of them,.....all mine still have the rolls of self wound b&w film in them,..still unused.

Great memories of earlier times.

Wouldn't it be a hoot if some whizz inventor figured out a way to make a 35mm digital drop in cassette that somehow was reusable,...making digital our antique collection of cameras.
Can fantisize,...can't I????

An observation. The photo shown at the beginning need not be that old. I got 10 of them in July when I bought Provia 100. It is the current Fuji canister. Agfa currently comes in black canisters, Kodak in black with gray top.

I remember buying Agfa when it came in an aluminum can with a screw on lid.

It's not a reality, yet, but a few have tried and come close.
