Guess I am old--used the metal ones with screw tops in my first forays into photography. I am still young by my grandmother's standards (She was a few weeks short of 105 when she died and said you weren't old until you were 96.)
On the other hand one of my third graders asked me one day when I was telling them the Pilgrim/Mayflower story, "Miss______, Did you come over on the Mayflower?"

It's all point of view.

Good call on that one!
I keep small brads nails in mine. I hot glue one on the top so I know which ones are in them.

What does Brad say when you hot-glue him?

PS - Excellent suggestion! Thanks.

I still have some. They make great pill boxes when traveling. I also have some of the aluminum ones with the screw tops.

An object isn't really old if it has the recycling logo on it.

I think I saved several in case they would be useful for something, stored away somewhere in a nostalgic box with my darkroom equipment. Forgot about them.

I actualy used these film cases when I went hunting with black powder rifles. I just put the premeasured powder and one 50 caliber ball head in the container. It was good for one shot, but it was easy to load when hunting in really cold weather. I never needed to carry more than three rounds because with black powder you never get a chance to fire twice at the same deer.

I taped two aluminum canisters together to make a two roll holder. I used Gaffer's tape and fastened three to my camera strap. This gave me enough Tri-X for an afternoon in DC. This was back when I loaded my own. The canisters were from Kodachrome II and had yellow threaded caps. I believe this was in 69 because by 70 I was back in Kansas, sans ruby slippers.
