Murder, sexual predators, pedophiles, etc....I'm pretty sure those are covered under mortal sins ...but you go ahead and call them "put downs". You're an idiot of the first order.

Look how many murderers in prison are converted christians though...does this mean their sin was unpardonable in god's eyes or does this mean that since they found god while incarcerated, they will be forgiven?

"Murder, sexual predators, pedophiles, etc...." (your words) fall into my category of the "very bad." Man knows how to deal with the very bad (incarceration, execution, restrictions), and needs no deity to handle it.

I think you are referring to the superstitious-belief that a deity will do the punishment of the-very-bad after they die?

In other words, some believers use the words "mortal sin" as a scare tactic, yet those using those words, for obvious personal gain and control, have yet to die and haven't a clue as to what a supposed "supernatural spirit," should one exist, may do?

I always warn holier-than-thou believers that because of the "forgiveness clause" in God's Constitution, that the very-very-bad on earth, may be their next door neighbors in the hereafter.

Now, what were you saying about "you are an idiot of the first order?" Your "put down" words do not affect me at all, nor do I believe in your "mortal sin" thesis.

If there is an all loving and all caring God then there is every right to believe of the possibility of total forgiveness for being bad while being human.

There is only one sin that will not be forgiven and that is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (Matthew 12:31).

Total Bull s--t. The Bible is so full of contradiction as to make it very difficult to fathom in so many of its parts:

Mark 3:28 for all of the following passages:

New International Version
Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter,

New Living Translation
"I tell you the truth, all sin and blasphemy can be forgiven,

English Standard Version
“Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the children of man, and whatever blasphemies they utter,

New American Standard Bible
"Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter;

King James Bible
Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:

Holman Christian Standard Bible
I assure you: People will be forgiven for all sins and whatever blasphemies they may blaspheme.

International Standard Version
I tell all of you with certainty, people will be forgiven their sins and whatever blasphemies they utter.

NET Bible
I tell you the truth, people will be forgiven for all sins, even all the blasphemies they utter.

Aramaic Bible in Plain English
“Truly I say to you, all sins and blasphemies that the sons of men will blaspheme shall be forgiven them,”

GOD'S WORD® Translation
"I can guarantee this truth: People will be forgiven for any sin or curse.

Mark 3:22-30 states,

“And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, ‘He has Beelzebub,’ and, ‘By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.’ …‘Assuredly, I [Jesus] say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation;’ because they said, ‘He has an unclean spirit’” (NKJV, emphasis added / Note: The Pharisees made the same charge in Mat 9:34.).
In Matthew 12:31-32, Jesus says to the Pharisees,

“Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come” (NKJV, emphasis added).

That's why he didn't include book, chapter and verse he didn't want anyone reading the entire passage.
