Was hoping to try my sigma on the new D7100 last night but no luck. And yes, dropping the lens probably isn't a good thing.....

I went out. We had clouds at times, so it was hazy.

I started at Chabot Observatory, above most of the city lights. But I got my best blood moon shots right from my own balcony/patio in the city, at sea level:

I got the star above it, too in the last few blood moon images.

I'm really surprised at you UHH members for not showing us your MOON SHOTS!!!!!! This thread is your opportunity to share them with us. Please post your best moon shot, and or eclipse of the moon shot!
I'm attaching mine to start this off.

Here is the eclipse from several years ago. It was one of the very few times we saw the eclipses in Seattle as it is usually too cloudy. It was quite cold that night--fortunately I shot from my yard and was able to warm up between shots.

I was told that the star on the far right is actually Mars. Can anyone verify that?
Beautiful shots!

You are correct, that was Mars by the Moon last night.

Brent;
Here's my attempt taken around midnight in a location a bit north of you. Thanks for starting the thread. Some of these shots are outstanding.
