just after sunset then we had to wait for eclipse to clear car smog before we could manage some images, taken on a 70-300 canon 7D
location eastern suburbs Melbourne Australia.

Very creative way of showing this! Thinking outside of the box! I love it!

Glad someone(s) got to see, and click it. Rained all night, but we REALLY needed to wash some pollen down the drain.

There will be another eclipse next year, and more pollen tomorrow.

I always feel so small when I post a picture, couldn't get the tripod to cooperate last night so I had to hand held. but here goes nothing.

Don't feel bad......even with a stable tripod my photos turned out less than desired. Here's what I got last night.

Fog rolled in around 10:00pm. Moon looked cool and the sky was milky. Storm clouds came in after that and my night was over before eclipse started. I would love to see more pics. Thank you.

gwr, your wish has been granted by the UHH members!

My tripod did not like standing on it's head. That camera and lens were almost vertical. Not steady at all.

Bummer about the clouds......you are not alone....others are reporting the same thing.

It was pouring down rain here, 6 to 8 inches in some areas with lots of lightening and high winds all night long. REAL Bummer!!

I gave it a try. Not the best moon shots, but I tried. Here it was very, very cold and then some clouds rolled in. I will try again in October when it happens again.

You did good! Very good! Thank you!

Here is my blood moon (not really, just looked that way) for a few minutes either last year or the year before. Wished I hadn't missed it this time. Bee

You and I had the same problems with clarity. I found that my best shots were with a very short exposure due to the movemnt of the moon and Mars.
