Ok, I am setting up a new wildlife contest.
Rules:
1. All photos need to be pretty much out of camera.
Tea8, congrats on the new contest.
I have a suggestion about rules, as it would level the playing field.
The "Photographic Society of America"(PSA), which governs member clubs all over the US and the world, has guidelines in place for the genre of Nature(wildlife).
You may view that hose guideline as follows:
Go to the Photographic Society of America website.
Just to the right and below the logo, click on "divisions".
On the list on the left, click on "nature".
Scroll down below the picture of the division chair and click on "Division information".
Then click on bullet, "Definition of Nature Photography".
Afterward, I also suggest a look at the bullet below it, "code of practice".
Tea8, those rules are accepted for nature contest all over world. It's an easy way to answer any question or personal philosophy that comes up, without you having to make personal calls, that then make you the bad guy playing to some but not others.
Nature is a lot like journalism, as some PP is allowed, but not a lot.
Please give this some consideration. And maybe someone much smarter than me can post a direct link, if it's something you can use. Good luck. ;-)
