So since there was some interest I have started a new Photo Contest for everyone here to participate in I am posting the details below as well as a link to the contest.

Ok, I am setting up a new wildlife contest. Let's have submission from now until the 18th of this month and then voting can continue until the 21st of the month. I am also limiting it to one photo per person.

Rules:
1. All photos need to be pretty much out of camera. Cropping of a photo is fine, but no other post processing will be allowed.
2. All photos must be of true wildlife taken in nature. Sorry no submissions of animals in the zoo.
3. All photos entered must have been taken in the last year. No photos older than that please.
4. Have fun with this and show us all what you've got. Looking forward to seeing all submissions.

If you would like I can make submissions anonymous so there isn't any favoritism.

Eliminating PP to cropping eliminates any photo captured in RAW format.

No post processing is kind of like just taking the film out of the canister and laying it on the table.

I think it is fair. It brings out the skills of the photographer.

Well I don't shoot in raw and there are a lot of people here who don't. If I say ok well you shoot in raw so it is ok to do the processing you want to on it then everyone has the chance to do it that way and we get into how much people can do with their pics to make it better. Then it turns into well let me see what I can do with my picture and make it better so I can make it look like everyone elses. If you want a contest where you can go all out and do any kind of post processing you want feel free to open one on wildlife yourself. I don't mind. I would like to get more contests going here.

Tea8 set the rules. I may or may not have cooperative wildlife. Personally, I think limiting it to "right out of the camera" is equivalent to saying you can't choose which lens to use.

Well lets put it this way I am not going to be downloading your pics and checking the exif data on them. If it looks natural I am probably not going to be checking to make sure that you haven't post processed. If it turns out like RMM's avatar then I might question things. OK? I just wanted to try and get some more contests going because there haven't been any in awhile and I thought some people here might like to have one again. I didn't specifically set it up to make people mad I am sorry if you feel angry at the rules I have set up.

None of my cameras shoot RAW. They shoot JPEG and I feel with that being the most universal, it makes it a more even playing field for the contest.

Not mad or disgruntled...just tried to make a point that many of us shoot in RAW. I think the photo contest is a good thing and agree they are a fun thing here on UHH. If the rules state no PP then I can abide by the rules of the contest. Again, I'm not the least bit mad, disgruntled, argumentative, or concerned that the contest rules are as stated. I look forward to viewing the works of the contestants and applaud Tea8 for taking the initiative to start the contest.

The JPEG image your camera produces is a post processed (processing is done in the camera at the time of the shot being made) image.

You do not get a digital image without post processing -- some is done in camera, some in Photoshop or other software.

Good Morning fellows. This is Tea8s' contest. Stop all the blathering and either submit the way she said or don't. No comment needed. Sorry, love you all, but knock it off.

How about we just agree that folks who shoot RAW can submit photos as long as the only processing done is to crop. No other tweaking. Is that fair enough?
