Really love these shots - #1 is great and the Egret and reflection I love - I will download it and get some detail in the plumage for her.

It reminds me of when I was 11 (or was it 21) and found a joy (or was it 34) in listening to the sound of the shutter (or was it 47) translate to an anticipation (or was it 59) of seeing the results in print (or was it...). The point is there a lot of bright tomorrows developing for your granddaughter. She gets a YUHH (Young Ugly HedgeHog) vote.

I have manage to get some detail in the shot but there are some burnt-out highlights on it's back - Egrets are very difficult to shoot because of their white feathers - always try to slightly underexpose when shooting to retain detail.

Give the kid her own camera when you take her out and no advice. You will love some of the fresh perspectives she comes up with. Especially at a market or other busy spot.

Kind regards...

Excellent shots all especially for a beginning photographer. Hope she continues to take great pictures and shares them with us here.

Thanks Bob. I think she's enjoying this. She took some pretty good photos over the summer when we went on outings.

I hope this is fun for her. It's a nice way for the two of us to spend time. Her 7 year old sister shows promise, too.

Thanks for taking time to look and comment.

I set the camera to auto for her and let her shoot what she wanted. These were the result with the 18-200 Tamron lens.

Thanks for your time and effort. It's appreciate.
