Hey cybermomm
I use the Nikon D7000 with the 70-300mmVR. Glad you liked them.

Beautiful! So clear and sharp. What camera/lens/settings did you use?

I really liked the feathers on these guys, but your right, no else liked them either, guess I need to get out more often. Any Lady photographers out there in Central Florida?????

Excellent shots!
#1 with happy Mr. Gator in the background is classic!!
I also like #5 very much as I appreciate the very interesting setting!
#'s 2 and 3 are butt shots and you probably could have left those out, the rest are golden!

Wow! That's the same lens we were discussing two days ago that people, including me, were having trouble getting sharp pictures with. Guess I'll keep mine after all, and play around with the ISO and other settings instead. Looking at your pics, there doesn't seem to be anything inherently "soft" in the focus. Must be operator problems... :)

Nice shot's. Everytime I try to capture egrets in flight they're flying away from me. Have you ever been to the St Augustine Alligator Farm? They have a huge Egret nesting area that's a great PhotoOp in the spring when they fledge. It think it's around mid May.

Check out the Main Photography Discussion section, around page 5 and look for " Focusing Methods For Birds in Flight " I tell what settings I use with this combo to get the shots. It's all about Focusing modes and metering...... What works for me, hope it helps

Thanks John,
Never been, but always up for adventure. Keep me in mind if you go there this year.

I'm definately going so I'll shoot you a message once I figure out which weekend will be best. Last year I caught two gators fighting, resulting in a death roll and a snapped arm. The pics were pretty cool, but I can still hear the 'snap' in my head when browsing through them.

Actually, we may have wolf puppies by then too, that would be a fun shoot. We never breed for sale, but were asked to breed a couple of our wolves for a government sanctioned wolf research facility out west. They need to introduce new wolves to keep their genetic strain clean… prevent inter-breeding. It’s the first time were mating two wolves, so we’re all pretty excited about it!

Love them. Especially the first. Actually I really like the shots of the birds flying away; beautiful details in the wings and no one ever posts photos like that. That makes them original rather than throwaway, right?!!

Fstop, all very nice crisp shots!!! Great job!

Not to be a stickler, but your birds with yellow feet...pretty sure they're Snowy Egrets. You've got a mix here.

;)

Thought that egret looked familiar. It's the same one you posted in Photogrl's thread. That one has a bit more contrast than this one.
