Hey Tracey,
Don't mind a bit, Molly's already been after me about that in a PM.. Guess I'll have to learn these bird names after all, since I like to shoot them.

Fstop, all very nice crisp shots!!! Great job!

Not to be a stickler, but your birds with yellow feet...pretty sure they're Snowy Egrets. You've got a mix here.

;)

Thanks, I really like the backside feathers also. Wish the front feathers were as fluffy.

Love them. Especially the first. Actually I really like the shots of the birds flying away; beautiful details in the wings and no one ever posts photos like that. That makes them original rather than throwaway, right?!!

Thanks rocka
Like the first one also. I keep thinking chicken every time I look at #6, bet they've seen the deep fryer more than once down in the Glades...

Hey Indi,
I was trying to show how well the 70-300mm worked in that post. Not sure why people think it's not very good. Every bird and animal post I've made are shot with that lens.

Thought that egret looked familiar. It's the same one you posted in Photogrl's thread. That one has a bit more contrast than this one.

Oh, I'm sorry. I wasn't criticizing the pictures. I was just indicating I liked the one with more contrast. Hope I didn't hurt your feelings in any way.

No, No. I posted the photo to show how sharp the lens is.. I read all the time people have problems with the lens, I had problems at first until I changed the focusing mode and practiced. Guess I worded my response wrong.

I like them enhanced sometimes, Love White on black.. and a little color never hurt anyone, but I try to show the birds as the are, not as I wish they were..

A few of the Egrets I captured in flight down in the Everglades this last weekend. Another shout out to Molly for the invite.

Saw the gator in #1 and thought that was an astounding picture. I was hoping you weren't going to show the gator gettin that bird!

Yeah! I just noticed that. 1, 4 and 6 all have black feet. The others have yellow feet. I like all the shots.

FStop, what are the specs on that lens. I have the 55-300mm with F.4.5 to 5.6 kit lens. I guess I'd need a lot of light to get my images THAT sharp.

TraceyG and I have been conferring through PM and she is correct on the identification of your birds. The beak color is the clue, which I failed to notice.

Since you like to shoot them, you will just learn through immersion....just like this case.
