General Chit-Chat (non-photography talk)
I have a serious question and I would like your opinion and reason for it.

I must agree that from what I see it is the democratic party that is attacking all this country stands for, our rights, our freedoms, and our way of life. Just open your eyes and minds and you can see it too. I do think the republicans have become way to strong on some things. That is another discussion. History is going to take a very dim view of this time in history when it comes to the president and his party.

So you are saying since politics are our creation it is OK to discard our beliefs for it? Wow! Therefore it is Ok to murder, rape, steal, etc etc since we created them? I don't think so but that is my belief, obviously different than the democratic party right now.

I have been told by several people that it is impossible to be a Christian unless one is also a Republican.

How say you and why?

This is like saying all dogs have 4 legs so a dog only having 3 legs isn't a dog.. Just ask any of the Kennedy clan if they are Christian. They're all Democrats...so this is just another means to start arguments on this site.

I honestly think that some people stay up all night just to come up with this rubbish.

Being secular, I wouldn't know. But, just any idiot can be Christian, as well as Moslem. Or anything else.

You don't get it, NikonJohn. I am atheist...and am in awe of the life of the man Jesus. "Christianity", on the other hand, I judge, and judge fairly, I believe, by the actions of putative "Christians". Their cult, and their professions of "faith" come off poorly by any standard of comparison you might choose.

What does this nonsense have to do with photography? Why is it necessary?

If you call yourself an atheist but do not believe as atheists do are you an atheist? No. The same thing applies to Christians. A lot of people say they are Christians but do not follow Christ so they are liers. Jesus said "many will say to me lord, lord but I will say I never knew you." He was talking about the fake Christians.

What source(s) of info about him are you using to have become in "awe of the life of the man Jesus"?

Oh come on sliver you know the answer to that. This is the General Chit-Chat section specifically set aside for folks to discuss “non-photography” subjects, stated very clearly in the title.

The religion thing is so old and boring. Everybody just has to espouse there beliefs in every way possible. There are so many more important things in life. I am so amazed that there are people who actually believe that the earth is only 6000 years old and dinosaurs were around with people. If you want to discuss religion start a religious site and do it there.

I think some folks just like to see how far topics like this will go again and sit back and laugh at the stupid posts and answers.
I know I am drawn into it often.

Anyone is a Christian who believes Romans 10:9. You doubters need to pay attention to the first word IF you believe in your heart (that is the most inner part of believing) you WILL be saved. The choice is up to you. You have a free will to chose what you want to believe. Dave
