My husband and I are headed to the Everglades and I want to take pics of course. Does anyone have experience with a particular tour company they could recommend? Sure would appreciate any info. Also anything we should not miss while in the keys. Thanks in advance.

I don't know where you're going in the Everglades, but if you're in the Orlando area try Boggy Creek Air boat Eco tours. Wear plenty of bug repellent, watch for snakes hanging in trees and wear boots if you're walking around, in case of snakes. Enjoy!

Thanks. Didn't think about lunch or water - just pictures. And I guess eating the local wildlife is frowned upon.

Just be careful--the local wildlife might eat you!!! Gators like tourists---they are still raw!!

Shark Valley---forget the tram---start onthe right (so you go backwards) and walk as much of the trail as you want---birds and gators everywhere---get there early if you want to park!

Everglades Park at Homestead----only one road---drive to the end. Take each turnoff to nearby parking area. Arrive early to see the Anhinga Trail (the first turnoff) as early as possible better light, better birds an gators. Walk the boardwalk.

Eating the local wildlife isn't the problem. In the Glades it could be the other way around. Watch where you walk when you are there.

My wife and I spent a day in the Evergaldes last year on out trip to the Florida Keys. We went to the national park and we saw lots of alligators and birds(anahingas and such) just walking the paths. Very hot and buggy though.

One thing I would suggest is that if you go on an air boat ride, and you definitely should, shoot some video. That was a lot of fun and watching the video of it was almost like taking the ride all over again. Definitely bring some type of weather/water protection for your equpment however.

Enjoy your trip.

The local wildlife will eat you first! My wife and I spent 3 days in the Everglades in November and really enjoyed it. Check the "user list" and PM some UHH'ers that live in the area and say hello. Wonderful people and knowledgeable also. Have fun and post some pictures.

Just got back from 3 wonderful weeks in the Everglades & Keys. The Anhinga Trail is amazing as is Shark Valley. Went on a fantastic air-boat ride at Tippys, run by MollyMolly, a fellow Hedgehog. Went birding through all of the keys. Based ourselves at Marathon which was beautiful, central & much less expensive than Key West, which we visited as a day trip. Have a wonderful time.

Have plenty of storage. Driving through the Keys will eat it up fast. Try Mallory Square at sunset in Key West. Not only are the sunsets awesome, but you get many shall we say "different" or "interesting" types of street performers. Nothing like it. :D

Oh and tram tour around Key West, and maybe Hemmingway's house. How about one of the sunset cruises.

Go to a free info booth. WELL worth the stop.
