Ok some of you may think that this is a little morbid. But I put my dad's ashes in there. He passed away just before Christmas. He worked for C & 0 for many years. He was also a Harley rider for most of his 81 years. For those who do not know a thing about Harley's. He is resting in an old oil tank from a Shovelhead Harley. The guy who did the air brushing did a great job. I think my Dad would be happy to know what he is in. And yes there was some oil residue. Nothing wrong with a little Harley oil on you. Heck I still have it pumping through my vines:) Always have had Harley in my life. :)

Way cool, Camshy, I am sure your dad is very pleased with his resting place
Not at all Morbid....We all pass in time as a Morning Vapor from a flowing river of a good life, one of doing what brings us Love and Joy.
Think of the good life he had, all the fun he had riding the roads of our beautiful Nation he saw and loved.
And most of all his wishes, You are true to them out of Love and respect.
I rode bikes for about 50 years until the vine of old age has wrapped itself around me.
I find this a neat tribute, Thanks for sharing...
Blessings and comfort to you.

Thank you Tom, and you are very welcome. I just wanted people to check it out. My Mom and Dad rode their bike in all lower 48 states. Took them a few years. And they never had a bike accident in all the years they rode. But.....my Dad did lose a lot of gas caps. He would take it off and whip at some one who was not paying attention. I do hope he enjoys his new resting place.

Camshy, First, my condolences on your loss. Now about your choice of urns, I think your Dad would absolutely LOVE IT! Its got a lot of class my friend, I really like the left over oil, non motor heads probably won't get it, but I for one think it rocks. Ride on Dude.

Thank you 33RIVERS for your condolences. I thought very hard about the left over oil. I first thought that maybe that would not be nice. But then I thought gee why not. I am sure he got oil on his fingers more then once! Thanks for looking and your comments. If you ride stay safe.
What a neat idea for an old biker. He can have it with him forever. Thanks for sharing a very personal story.

That's a great idea, story, and loving tribute to your dad, camshy!
Hey Again Camshy,
I posted earlier and have followed along with all the nice comments on Your Dad...
Your Dad and his love for the Harley's riding, etc. reminded me of the "Ole Cowboy Story", who when he died requested that his skin be made into a "Ladies Horse Saddle"...his motive was that he would rest between the "Two Things He Love Most in Life"...ha ha.
Due to old age and bad Skelton System, had to give up riding in my old age....like your Dad & Mom, I loved riding and made it on the bikes, to every State except Alaska and Hawaii..
Love all the comments and feedback you got, Thanks Again for sharing.
Sure all the comments have been comforting to You and helped refresh your memories of your beloved Dad.
