To be honest. In the gallery if I think it's bad I don't say anything but if someone shows me his/her pictures in real life I must say some praises. That what the person wants and I will not make his/her feels bad.

Yea, I'll just say "That's nice."
(For me it would not be a stranger showing me a picture like here.)
We raised horses for many years and when someone showed me his new horse, thinking it had a fantastic gait for showing, BUT I thought its gait was not good, I'd simply say "That is one beautiful horse" and just not comment on the gait. If it was not beautiful (almost all horses are) I might say, "He's nice and healthy looking. Someone certainly too good care of this one" or "what a beautiful shiny coat he has".
Same thing with photos. If it's OOF you can still say "Sweet puppy" or "Beautiful flowers". That doesn't mean it's got either, sharp detail or blurry. Just means the subject is nice.
You can always find something nice to say about anything.

You can say "reasonable expectations" or such, but the bottom line is, unless you ask the photographer their intent, you don't know.
I read your initial post as your being open to discussion, but it quickly became apparent you really were in rant mode, with no interest in understanding all that has been written by those of us who are explaining the reasons to not indulge your ego with unsolicited advice.
Linda - who died and left you as the Oracle of this site? You and your fellow Uhh police force have made it clear to me that there are too many pompous, self righteous, mean spirited people lurking here that make it ill suited for serious photographers. Arguing that it is every persons right to post crummy photographs (once again - I say this slowly - OBJECTIVELY CRUMMY, NOT SUBJECTIVELY CRUMMY) on a dedicated photo forum without being willing to learn how to improve is just silly.
You gleefully (vindictively?) point to an early post of mine where I pretty much called the obnoxious UHH know it all who felt it was his duty to chastise me for inadvertently posting some photos to the wrong UHH forum. That is the type of snarky BS (oh- did I offend your delicate sensibilities again? So sorry) that is ruining what once was a pretty decent site. Being open is a 2 way street and conforming to your definition of what's right or taking the highway isn’t open
I’m sure few tears will be shed, but don’t bother replying to this post (which is most definitely a rant)since I won’t be participating further in a website where people seriously argue that focus is subjective. I guess I should have cc’d this post to the all knowing Canon guy who thinks of himself as the smartest guy in the room on virtually every topic including the forum rules in case he has trouble reading between the lines.
I’ll stay with photo sites here on planet earth.

Some people
have amassed a great deal of knowledge.
Expecting/requiring everyone to
want to learn is silly also.

Linda was pointing out what the Photo Gallery was intended to be. It is easy to understand if you read the rules that were set up either by the owner of the sight, or with his approval.
Obviously this is not a good fit for you. I hope you find a site that suits you, or maybe you could start your own. No need to respond.
Good Luck,

I was on a forum once where a lady asked us to critique a picture her daughter had made. It was a woodsy scene with the sun coming through the trees and blowing out the entire middle portion of the picture. I opined that shooting directly into the sun and metering the darker trees was a mistake and that shooting directly into the sun that way did not make for a good image in any case. Remember, she had asked for an "honest critique," but when I gave her one, she immediately began to disagree with everything I said. Another guy came into the discussion saying that it could easily be fixed with Photoshop's Shadow/Highlight thingy, and proceeded to prove himself wrong by trying to do it. They both got more and more caustic until she finally informed me that men just didn't have the ability to see beauty the way that women can...
I gave no more critiques.
