Wow Jim, you really got dumped on - sunshine and mainly blue skies here, some wispy clouds being blown around by very gusty winds, temps in the mid 20's but there is some few inches of snow in the forecast over the next week starting Saturday, eventually followed by rain - we have enough cheese and wine at home so I am going to sit it out ....

Wow...maybe Lake Powell will get a bit better. It's nice here in SoCal...but cold, on and off rainy, windy. It's in the 50's locally. Man, we are such pussies... ;0)

The snow makes a pretty picture Jim. Stay warm and don't get lost in a snow drift.

According to 7&4 news and weather we are due for more tonight. (9&10 say we get more to our south.) Lake effect is keeping us warm. I am getting phone calls from around the country asking if Traverse City's wx is as good as reported. Actually, it is better than reported at this time. On the other side of Big Blue the wx is awful! 8" is just enough to cover last week's dirty snow so the scenery is all white. Roads are cleared and sanded and no school buses to clutter those roads. 17 days from now spring is scheduled to arrive here. It could be early as far vas I am concerned. So far this winter we have been luckier than most of the country, nothing but snow, and very little of that! C'mon spring!

Looking out my garage door a few minutes ago. Our birdbath has a foot of snow on it so no bathing today. Neighbor shoveling snow yelled over that it is "wet and heavy".

News this morning telling people to stay home if possible...schools are closed and airport is barely operable...three feet of new snow in the mountains. On February 14th, Alta Ski Resort had surpassed 500 inches of snow, the earliest ever for that amount!! Going to be a wild date for those who venture out!

Cool shot! Snowing and very cold here as well.

Wow that's quite the storm. I believe it's the one that gave us almost 2" of rain the other day but our mountains got 4-6 feet from that same system. Lucky for us, we're not above 2000 feet(snow line for this system), only about 100' above sea level at our place on a hill in the valley.
Enjoy a lazy day after all that snow removal!

I don't envy any of you in the snow belts... We're down here living it up in Cabo St. Lucas, Mexico on the Baja Peninsula this week. It's gorgeous. The Playa Grande Resort is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. If you have the urge to get away and the means to do so, check it out. We only hope we can get back to NC on Saturday!

Pox on you, David...have you received any snow to speak of this winter?

I can't answer for Dave O, he's in northern CT, but here in balmy southern CT I've seen a few flakes now and then, but we have had zero measurable snow this year. Absolutely no white stuff on the ground.

About 12 years ago from the day after Christmas through the end of January we had 6 feet. I've never seen more snow in my life. Come spring the town raised all of the stop signs 2 feet as they were all covered during the white spell.

Looks a bit chilly Jim. Grab some hot java and then a morning nap!
