Looking out my garage door a few minutes ago. Our birdbath has a foot of snow on it so no bathing today. Neighbor shoveling snow yelled over that it is "wet and heavy".

News this morning telling people to stay home if possible...schools are closed and airport is barely operable...three feet of new snow in the mountains. On February 14th, Alta Ski Resort had surpassed 500 inches of snow, the earliest ever for that amount!! Going to be a wild date for those who venture out!

Just looked at the N.W.S. map of N. America. This storm begins in eastern Nevada and extends to N. Atlantic seacoast. We're looking for 8"-10" OR more in northern MI. 3' have fallen since sun-up but we are experiencing a lull in the action now. Mail was delivered but the trash hauler seems to be on vaca. Not the first time the weather guy has missed badly. He told us to expect 3 feet for the Xmas storm, and we received 6'! Hope they are not more accurate today. Rack monster just told me he is saving my afternoon for a long winter's snooze.

WOW! It's headed this way, Jim. Just a dusting this morning, but it supposed to pickup this afternoon. The mountains are expected to get dumped on again, but we will probably see about 3-5 inches. Good day to stay in. Stay warm and dry!!!!

Stay safe, Jim! It is deeper here and the winds are making things interesting. Too much wind to get out and take a shot.

No mail delivery for us today and don't think the carrier could get with six feet of our mailbox. We live on a sharp curve to the left and the snow plow put up about four feet of frozen wall in front of our mailbox!!

Many thanks for the encouragement to stay in, however duty called and I snow blowed ours and two other big aprons. By the time I did get out we were up to 16-17" of heavy wet snow that took two hours of nap time. Slacking off tomorrow, hopefully!!
