The choice is yours. I chose the 5D Mark IV. I like all the bells and whistles it has. Love the touch screen and I love the advanced focus system. Not so keen on the WiFi, probably won't ever use it but who knows. Probably won't use the GPS either. But the 30mp files are fine for me. I like the 7fps burst and larger buffer so I can use this body for most wildlife if I choose to.

It's amazing how 3.5 fps was blazingly fast for sports in the not so distant past.

Let me guess: The two dogs complained about having to share with you!

For your proposed uses I recommend the 5DSr; I have some great 20x30" enlargements from Machu Picchu from high above and every stone in the walls is well demarcated. You will love the details with this camera.

Ok, Ok, I'll confess....., one of the dogs bit me and I could tell, the other was about to, so I threw down the treat, went treat-less, then went crying to my wife about how the dogs had taken my treat....., she just laughed and muttered sarcastically something about when I was going to learn to not let the dogs take advantage of me!!!!!
Life's HARD at the Shooter household!!!

Given that they are about the same prices right now - which one would be the best suited for my photography? Shoot mostly flowers, close up and landscapes. Have yet to do any sports or anything that requires rapid shooting. And will never use the the video recording stuff. Any suggestions?? Would like to be able to have some of my photos printed at about 24" x 36" inches.

I have the Canon 5DSR and megapixels will always help with big prints.

You're right, but, you know this is a six year old post, don't you?

I am not a Canon shooter. I will not recommend a specific camera. But I will tell you that I use both Nikon D500 (21 MP DX) and D850 (46 MP FX) cameras. I shoot the things you shoot, in addition to some other subjects. And I only very occasionally shoot a casual video. My most used camera is the D500. It's fun and comfortable to shoot, and the files are about the right size for most things. A Fine/Large JPEG (that means full resolution, minimally compressed) is immediately emailable without resizing. But sometimes I'm out with the D850. If I need to capture and email an image, I can quickly switch to DX format (there are three or four other choices also) and capture images equivalent to what the D500 would do. I'm sure that the full-frame Canons can do the same thing.

For me, having to choose to keep only one of these cameras would be an excruciating decision. I'm not 100% sure what I'd do. So I understand your dilemma. I'd probably keep the D850, though, because it can emulate the D500, and there are some things it can do that the D500 cannot. By the way...the two cameras are very close to the same in terms of size and weight. But the D500 is noticeably better from an ergonomic standpoint. It is absolutely more fun to carry and shoot. Subtle differences in the geometry and profiles make a big difference.
