One way to look at it is: Glacier is more of a hiker's park with way more wildlife opportunities (take your longest lens) and Yosemite will offer more opportunity to see vistas by driving. I've been to both and would say neither is to be missed. Yosemite will likely be more crowded but Glacier gets really full too. Which ever you choose, look into lodging WELL in advance. There are some really great places to eat at or near both parks. The Belton Inn near Glacier was very much to our liking. Dinner at the lodges inside the parks is going to require reservations (at least in my experience). We were at Glacier in the September and Yosemite in May. Both had plenty of people even at those times. These parks are so huge that there is no realistic possibility of seeing the whole park unless you have weeks or even months to spend there. I truly love the national parks. I've been to 44 of them. I hope to make at least 50 before I die.

Yosemite is godawful crowded…and Glacier has some nice views but few glaciers. Going to the Sun Road is closed more than it’s open. If you’ve got a passport…Jasper and Banf up across the border are far superior views.

I've been to both. Both are amazing. If I had to pick it would be Yosemite.

Yosemite. Make reservations ahead of time.

Yosemite - If you are willing and have the time to get out of the (crowded) Valley and include Tuolumne Meadows and the high country. If you like mountain country, each is just great and the real question is which to do first and which next year. As someone said, reserve far in advance. If you can avoid the months when schools are not in session, so much the better.

I would go to Glacier. Only reason being is that Yosemite is just spectacular in the Spring when the falls are going off. That probably will not be the case this year because only 1 storm in December and not much snow since. Driest I have ever seen it. Not many people at Yosemite during the winter but well worth going. It is probably full on springtime now.

I worked in Yosemite for a season and during tourist season its almost impossible to drive anywhere in the valley. Even the shuttle takes a very long time to get from point a to point b. However, either Glacier ot Yosemite do give you a multitude of opportunities to take amazing images.

Take in both Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks IMO. Expect crowds. You have to go online to get into Glacier now. Have fun wherever you end up.

Just returned from a brief, 3 day, trip to Yosemite. Bridal Veil and Yosemite Falls both flowing. Not at all crowded, even had lunch at the Ahwahnee hotel without reservations. However one of our favorite spots, Glacier Point, will be closed all year for repairs to the access road. Also direct access to Bridal Veil falls is closed due to repairs to the parking area. My favorite time there is early spring for the falls or winter with snow. Summer is bumper to bumper and access this year is going to be quite limited. The falls will probably be dry by late June this year, if not sooner. You should definitely get to Yosemite at least once. It is amazing and a photographers dream. Good luck.

Just reading this again
Why either.
There are billions of wonderful photos of both places that you likely will never be able to take for a multitude of reasons.
There are hundreds of wonderful drives in the mountains on back roads that have scenes that rival or exceed the me too views and shots you would get.
Just drive on any road and find amazing places in the Sierra Nevadas or the Rockies.
Far more memorable and personal.

Yosemite is more photogenic, safer to hike alone (no bear spray needed), I've been on a long hike in Yosemite and all mammals I saw was 3 bears and2 deer, no people. But Glacier was amazing, only been there once and that was in autumn. Been to Yosemite multiple times and always takes my breath away and I see something new to photograph every time.

More photogenic than this? I don't think so! Take in Glacier N.P. after the first of July, endless photo opportunities.

I've been to both and both are spectacular; both are also overcrowded during prime seasons. Much would depend on whether you are driving, flying in and renting a vehicle, taking a group tour, etc. You can't go wrong with either one, but my personal preference is Glacier. But I drive my own 4wd and prefer to camp, and Glacier offers much more there than Yosemite.
