Well the author of Gone With the Wind is perfectly entitled to say that Scarlett lived wherever he wanted her to . It's a work of fiction, after all. Apt comparison, Chewy!

That message was for those who truly want to know the truth. I love this verse,it says a great deal. Matthew 8:29.

Incidentally - for those who like to quote the bible;
Fact 1> A person quotes something out of the bible to 'prove' their argument. A second person whose views are opposite the first persons - can use other passages to 'prove' that they are right?

Fact 2> The new testament has been so so altered over the centuries to suit politics and policies at that time that it has changed greatly from the original writings.

Show me the reversal of Matthew 8:29. Thanks

1> What argument are you using this quote to prove?

2> I do not claim to know all the bible but I do know many places it contradicts itself.

3> The new testament was written several hundred years after the fact and has been so altered that it makes the expression 'gospel truth' a joke.

4> Every religion believes they hold the one truth and they can't all be right so I shun religions and avoid getting into any pointless arguments as a religious person cannot believe that their religion can be wrong in any way - and if they did they would be damned to hell fire.

God - in any name - has a wicked sense of humor which is why there are so many religions. :lol:

And finally - I still do not know what all this has to do with the original post and the Mayan calendar which started several thousand years before Christianity.

If that verse meant anything it might be possible to find it's 'reversal'. But as it's nonsense I might as well quote something out of Harry Potter - 'expeliamus'. There, that PROVES I'm right!

Lets lighten things up folks;

A man was walking along a cliff path when he slipped and fell. He would have fallen to the rocks 100 ft below but he managed to catch hold of a tree root a few yards down.
He called out to god to save him.

While he was waiting an ugly hedgehog looked down on him and asked 'what are you doing down there?' The man answered 'trying to get back up!'

Soon he heard a shout from above and saw a soldier looking down 'Hold on there we will soon rescue you.'
The man called back 'no need to - god will save me'. So they went off.

A little later he heard a shout from below and looking down saw a navel vessel had launched a rescue boat. A sailor called up 'Hold on there we will soon rescue you.'
The man called back 'no need to - god will save me'. So they went off.

Meanwhile a crowd had gathered and were taking pictures on their mobile phones. (Must keep in with the photographic topic).

Soon he heard a clap, clap, clap of rotor blades and saw an airforce helicopter
A voice through a loud hailer called down 'Hold on there we will soon rescue you.'
The man called back 'no need to - god will save me'. So they went off.

Soon after they went, the root broke and the man plummeted 100 ft onto the rocks below.
He arrived in heaven in a foul mood and as soon as he saw god he angrily cried 'Why didn't you save me when I called on you?'

God looked puzzled and scratched his head, 'I cannot understand what went wrong - I sent the army, navy and airforce to rescue you'.

Amazing, you start off by trying to discredit my verse with your mumbo jumbo and now we find that you can't. Religions are made by man and they have nothing to do with Gods Gospel. God exists and it's also true that lucifer exists. That being said of course there is going to be confusion.Did you think that would not be the case? Yes the Bible has been tampered with,primarily by footnotes. By your demeanor I put you in with the atheists .
There was a man who made a living mocking God by telling jokes about him. As he lay dying on a lonely highway he was heard saying, not now God not now. Another comedian who made his living mocking God died suddenly at 34. Should give you pause for thought. Now I will spoon feed you. Matthew 8:29 clearly shows us by the demons question that even they know they are on borrowed time. Those that mock God stand side by side with those demons who know they are on borrowed time. The big difference is they know it,you haven't a clue. That includes you who change the meaning of God's pure truth with your pathetic interpretations.

That verse doesn't clearly SHOW us anything. It might TELL us something (and pretty obscurely, if you ask me), but that doesn't mean it's true. This seems to be the heart of the problem - bible-believers think what it says is evidence. I might as well say that pink frogs live at the bottom of my garden and say that that shows that not all frogs are green.

Even more fun... nowhere in the bible does the bible make any claims that everything in it is true. Even Jesus spoke in parables and parables are not true, but meant to teach a lesson. They are pieces of fiction meant to educate. So were Aesop's Fables. Aesop predated Jesus by 500 years - assuming Aesop actually existed. Of course, the same question of existence can also apply to Jesus.

The comic who spent his whole career making millions of dollars mocking God cried out to him just short of his last breath. I hope when that time comes for you two you will keep your mouth shut. At least die as you lived. There is of course an alternative,I suggest you take it.

Part of being a Christian is being understanding and kind. While we may turn our cheek when slapped we shouldn't slap others because they don't believe or question or ridicule. If anyone had a reason to be angry and dismissive it was Jesus and while he rebuked and reprooved he never acted in anger except the one time when his fathers temple was being used by money changers. He always kept his demeanor calm and intelligent.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. There are no atheists in foxholes. Blaaa blaaa blaaa. I don't know who the comic you're talking about was and I don't care. Your story means nothing. When I die I'll say goodbye to those I love and who love me and that'll be that. When you die you might say something about meeting your fantasy friend and that'll be that. I hope it's a long time in the future for both of us.

You better go back and study Genesis before you preach to any one.
