Charlottesville - that started out as a trump rally. You need to pull your head out of the sand.

You're as crazy as trump - trump always passively encouraged mob violence and for the past few weeks he was stoking his base to violence."be there it's going to be wild" etc.

Perhaps I misunderstood your earlier post. Regarding a review of procedures, I think it's apparent that a better system for receiving and verifying absentee is required. I'd like to believe that each state is forming a committee to review and codify new standards for mail in ballots. Comparing signatures is not feasible.

We need less mail in ballots and more checks of voter rolls. Ca. sent me several questionnaires asking if I wanted to vote by mail, i responded to all with the same reply, I will vote in person on election day, I still got a ballot in the mail, along with two other ballots for the people that lived here before me, I could have easily voted three times. Mail in voting leaves the door wide open for those that intend to cheat, add ballot harvesting to the mix and you are sure to invite even more misdeeds by those wishing to throw the election.

How can the statement "Protesting is the best form of democracy" be interpreted as an encouragement for violence? Nancy Pelosi did not incite a riot, as did Trump and his family yesterday. Rudy referred to "trial by combat". The rioters and looters last summer weren't wearing Biden campaign gear. The insurgents at the capital were dressed head to toe in Trump gear.

Yes, this is true.

If you receive a ballot for someone that is not you at your address, your governing body certainly thinks that person is a valid registered voter at your address. You could vote all of the ballots and if caught you could say you tossed the wrong ones in the trash and someone must have salvaged them. And if you sent them close to election day, you could vote in person as well and they would all likely count. Again, if caught you could say you never requested or received them.

Unsolicited absentee ballots were a large vector for fraud in PA.

Why is it not feasible? It's done here in Colorado at every election cycle for as long as I can remember. Every mail in ballot comes with instructions to sign the envelope as it will be verified, then the ballot is submitted...Hummm

Because the handwriting of many people will change over time - tending to become less precise. On top of that, there is the unreliability of human assessment. There has to be a better way because the reliance on absentee ballots will only continue to grow. The effect of trump's false claims about major voting frauds has only heightened the fear of voter fraud for no other reason than to serve himself.

If you are saying that Democrats have done what Trump supporters are now doing in the Capital Building, you are lying again.

No, the protesters literally took a dump on the seal of the US while the Democrats only do so figuratively. The Democrats can't seem to find it in their hearts to defend the ideals of the Constitution in a concrete way. They are full of platitudes and suggest we have moral imperatives, etcetera, but they simply CANNOT find a reason to maintain the US Constitution as is, a document empowering the people and restricting the government. This is the exact opposite of 99% of the "changes" the left are championing.

Think it over: EVERY one of the proposals I'm about to mention suggest they empower the voter, but actually bribe the voter by empowering government.

Socialized health care.
THE SELL : People will not go broke, free, tax the rich more....
THE REALITY : Government takes over education, access, rationing of services, price controls, pay scales for doctors.... Access is more limited, options are limited, doctors' numbers will decrease, and people, because of increased taxation, will not have the ability to go buy a better outcome. And the best part, innovation plummets to near zero when profit is removed as a motive to drive investment, investment that either ends, or is funded through still higher taxes.

Student loan forgiveness
THE SELL : Colleges are too expensive. Young people don't deserve the debt. Education should be free.
THE REAITY : First off, college got astronomically more costly at EXACTLY the moment government guaranteed loans. The priority of colleges went from quality to quantity of students, from quality to quantity of majors, and to advertising for more numbers. Universities all over put in 100 million dollar sports complexes, golf courses, water parks, and lesbian studies degrees. Why not? The money is 'guaranteed'. Then there is the problem of rewarding BAD financial choices (big debt) and punishing others who made GOOD choices and worked their own way through their educations. Those who lost a debt pay a small tax for their service but the rest of us pay more taxes for no service at all. And now government power. When government pays for college, ALL the drawbacks of social health care apply.

This is getting too long, but the same problems arise with minimum wages, reparations, UBI, the Green New Deal, trans-ocean business alliances...... all of them put the government actors in the decision making chair and remove choice from the supposedly sovereign citizen. Citizen.....the worst Democrat idea.... allowing virtually anyone to cross into the US, to then vote for handouts, and also to NOT monitor voting with obvious transparency, is nothing but an attempt to seize the reigns of power, power that will NEVER return to the people.

False equivalency, and you know it. Yesterday was a terrorist attack, incited by Trump and his minions, directly attempting to prevent Congress from performing a constitutionally required duty that is supposed to be part of a smooth transition of power. It constitutes sedition. This goes way beyond whatever the hell has happened in Portland. Ask yourself, if Muslims or Blacks, incited by Obama, had done what Trump supporters did yesterday, what would you be saying today?

Putting aside the tragedy in Washington, with regard to the reference to Portland you know it too was a terrorist attack. Just be honest about it.

And more polling places in predominantly Republican areas, and fewer in predominantly Democratic areas, right?

Actually birthright citizenship was a Republican idea. Aren't you supposed to be a teacher? Or, did you say you once met a teacher?
