Trump always condemned mob violence. Was always for law and order. And always defended law enforcement. And I did not hear him incite or call for violence and mob actions yesterday. That's not what I heard.

During all the Dem, Antifa, and BLM mob violence of the last year it was the Dem party and the Dem media that not only didn't condemn violence but encouraged it. During the Wash DC burning and destruction all Nancy Pelosi said is, "Protesting is the best form of democracy", and that in sight of St. John's church burning.

Trump has condemned mob violence when it pertains to BLM. He has never condemned mob violence when the violence is done by right wing fanatics. "There are good people on both sides." He has yet to condemn yesterday's violence, saying yesterday's terrorists are "Patriots" and "special" people. The law and order President? Give me a break. There was nothing about law and order yesterday. It was sedition, pure and simple. He disgusts me, as does anyone who continues to justify or make excuses for his behavior. It is pathetic how staunch Trump supporters don't want to talk about what happened yesterday, and instead try to shift the conversation to BLM.

It's been a bad day, and a horrible week for Trump, actually he has mismanaged the last month leading up to not only this but probably also to the defeat of the two senators in Georgia. He not only did not rise to the challenge he was confronted with today his hubris in large part provided impetus for today's disaster. This does not change what we witnessed on November 3rd and the following weeks, the calls for investigations must still move forward. Nor does it excuse the hypocrisy coming from the other side.

You're right, Trump really f'd up these past 60 days.

I sincerely feel that Trump is responsible for losing the Georgia Senate seats. His agenda has always been good and his execution and communication have been a$$. Instead of quietly working with Georgia to improve their election security for the runoff, he insulted the only people that could improve that security.

It was an extremely bad idea to invite angry people, upset about the election to congregate in Washington. It was a terrible idea for Trump to incite them with a personal appearance.

The media have been brilliant at goading Trump over the last 4 years, and frankly, I'm surprised he was as effective as he was for as long as he was. When you bruise the ego of an egomaniac for 1500 days straight it's a recipe for disastrous stupidity. In hindsight, Trump would have gotten much more done if I had not poked the media back every time they poked him.

Yesterday was soley a Trump manufactured tragedy.

False equivalency, and you know it. Yesterday was a terrorist attack, incited by Trump and his minions, directly attempting to prevent Congress from performing a constitutionally required duty that is supposed to be part of a smooth transition of power. It constitutes sedition. This goes way beyond whatever the hell has happened in Portland. Ask yourself, if Muslims or Blacks, incited by Obama, had done what Trump supporters did yesterday, what would you be saying today?

Words, just words. Terrorist attack, Riot, protest, call it what you want just use the same standard when the other side is doing it.
Unlike you I refuse to take a side in this mess we have created. You are probably happy with the outcome we are watching so you don't need to add lots of words to rationalize your stance. Just enjoy it but don't add fuel to the fire!

I enjoy nothing about what has happened yesterday. I thought it was disgusting and it made my stomach churn in knots. I wondered why law enforcement wasn't there to the same extent as when they tear gassed peaceful demonstrators so Trump could pose with a bible he doesn't read in front of a church he doesn't attend. I condemn all rioters, including those who used BLM as an excuse to create mayhem. That said, I am waiting for someone to show me when there has been any other terrorist attack, incited by a President, into the Capitol building during a session of Congress as Congress was exercising a constitutionally required duty that would result in the peaceful transfer of power from one President to another. Yesterday was a terrorist attack on our Constitution and the government which it authorizes. It was sedition, pure and simple.

Curious how you came to choose "terrorist attack" for a label. Not well thought out.

Trump people acting like democrats.....

Let me be clear, I do not support what is happening in DC at the moment, but it would seem that Trump supporters have stormed DC, I guess they got tired of watching democrats burn cities and take over state capitals with no reprisals.. This is not the way that I would want to see it done.

Things are going to get really nasty if concerns over this election are not address in a very public and transparent manner.

You are a liar.
Those were not democrats- you just like saying crap like that.
Jackboot white supremacists acted up like the wanna be terrorists they really are.
This is NOT a patriotic act. It's treason.

Terrorist: a person who uses unlawful violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims.

Take a look at the fear on the faces of members of the Senate and House of Representatives yesterday and tell me they weren't intimidated and in fear of their lives. And tell me the thugs who stormed the building did not do so with unlawful violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims. Case closed.

I am not talking about recounts.

There were real issues..judges deciding to expand mail ballot eligibility when that power rested solely in the legislative branch, the PA legislature enacting a law which violated their state constitution...I don't know how many times laws were bent...neither does most of the citizenry. That is why investigation is warranted...to learn how to make sure we do it by the rules going forward.

Covid threw a wrench into our process, and rules were bent to accommodate safety needs.

I am not advocating any attempt to change the results...the results are legit.

But can't we learn from our procedural mistakes?

Perhaps I misunderstood your earlier post. Regarding a review of procedures, I think it's apparent that a better system for receiving and verifying absentee is required. I'd like to believe that each state is forming a committee to review and codify new standards for mail in ballots. Comparing signatures is not feasible.
