Hello, looking for some help on where to go on the Oregon Coast for photography of course. Just wondering where you might suggest for a motorhome trip. Town names would be great along with what you would go photograph while there. Anyone who has done a west coast from California up to Washington, what is on your don't miss list. I'm trying to put together camp sites and how long to stay at each place.
Thanks I have just never been out west and not sure where to start!

Hi Lady, you'll wonder why you waited so long. Washington and Oregon Coasts are fabulous. I can't go into town by town, but it is a very traveled trip and I think you will find more than you can handle in paper and video guides. High points, Spend some time in Settle. Take teh ferries all around, just for the fun and off shore view of it. remember high shutter speeds and avoiding bracing on shop structures because of inevitable engine vibrations. Even at a dead stop the generators are BIG and the vibes will trasfer through your body.
The Olympic Peninsula is fantastic, and somewhat overlooked. Also the shoreline near Sandy, WA just West of teh SEATAC airport, for nice tranquil shoreline.
In Oregon, a side trip to Crater Lake is a once and only experience--research and calculate. Don't fail to drive 50-100 miles East on the Columbia River, it is impressive. The Pacific Coast is dramatic, rugged and Rocky, like I mean BIG formations.
Te California Coast is similar. Some popular stops are Ft Brag, I like Ukiah on 101 a little inland.
The Pacific Coast Highway or whatever it morphs into right along the cost can become very tedious driving in a large Vehicle--like a Big 1970 Impala Station wagon, no less a motor home. I suggest you pick and choose the spots--there are VERY many--and spend some time on 101 to make some time and drive straight for over 200 feet without looking sown a sheer cliff.
For CA Wine Country, Windsor is right on 101. It is accessible to all of Sonoma and Napa Counties. If you've got a toad, great, or maybe rent a car to get around. OR, splurge in a limo or limo-bus winery tour.
There used to be AN RV Park in San Francisco near the Cal Trans (train) depot across form teh Giants Stadium. My be gone now. SF is NO PLACE for a Motor home. In'n'out. Use great public transportation and Uber and TAXI's.
The Pacific Coast Highway (Ca 1) south from SF is great. Stop for sure and Half Moon Bay, check out the surfing just south, Davenport, Santa Cruz and Monterey are super too.
The State Beach and State Park Campgrounds are terrific, but i suspect have minimal RV support beyond Electricity. Plenty of info available. These states are not shy and they provide good info online.
Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
