Hello, looking for some help on where to go on the Oregon Coast for photography of course. Just wondering where you might suggest for a motorhome trip. Town names would be great along with what you would go photograph while there. Anyone who has done a west coast from California up to Washington, what is on your don't miss list. I'm trying to put together camp sites and how long to stay at each place.
Thanks I have just never been out west and not sure where to start!

If I was making the trip, I would start in Manzanita Oregon, ride horses along the beach. Hop over to Tillamook the see their cheese being made, and get some of their cheddar cheese spread and your favorite crackers to enjoy on your trip up the coast. Seaside has a lot of the "haystack" giant rocks in the ocean close to shore. At the top of the Oregon coast is Astoria, after seeing it cross the bridge into Washington State, see the lighthouse, the ,port at Iwaco and follow the peninsula to the end. It is scenic, and dip your toes into the Pacific several times along the way. Enjoy! Watch the sun set over the ocean. Build a driftwood fire on the beach at night and relax and listen to the waves.

If you are a waterfall person and lots of them-the Columbia River Gorge. However if you are limited, go to Silver Falls State Park. The best combination of beautiful falls in a small area. Research it.

Photograph America is a good photographers resource for just about anywhere in America. I have not used the Oregon one, but I have used several others.

Over the last 10 years, we have driven the entire Oregon coast at least once, some parts of it 3 times. I think the best parts are from about Florence south. The Heceta Head lighthouse is beautiful and is a B&B; we stayed there and highly recommend it. Since you need to get there, you should try to make it to the Bend area, one of our favorite places. We have been there (to Sisters) at least once a year for the last 10 years, except 2018 (we were on a cruise- a fair trade). If you happen to be a quilter (like my wife), or are interested in them, the world's largest outdoor quilt show is held in Sisters the second Saturday in July. Someone else mentioned the Hoh Rain Forest, part of the Olympic National Park in Washington, is worth a visit if you get that far north. The coast south of Oregon is also worth a visit. Also, Crater Lake is spectacular. IMHO, the most beautiful part of the west coast is the Big Sur area south of Carmel California.
