Photographer saying: get right in the camera, save time and money.......

Of course, that's a given. Nobody is advocating doing sloppy photography and having to fix things that should have been done right in the camera. But even most captures that are as good as they possibly can be out of the camera can be further enhanced with post processing.

Straight out of the camera, right into the editor.

straight out of cameras is good.but you should know that the current DSLR cameras do their own editing through their computers.so it is not exactly straight out of the cameras.even during the film era, the portrait photos were touched manually before it was handed over to the customers.one great photographer once said that editing makes a good photograph better.so one has to get a good photo to start with.the one exception to editing is photo journalism.

Exactly no such thing as SOOC unless it is a RAW file and we all know they require edits.

Art is a major distraction from the technology of photography.

And the technology of photography is a major distraction from the ultimate objective- spending more money.

Umteenth plus one?

If no topics were ever repeated, this would be a pretty dull forum.

I use SOOC fairly often when I'm taking pictures of something I'm working on. I might want before, during, and after pictures, or I want to have a reference for how something goes back together. I shoot raw, so pictures I consider good must be processed.

I love keeping this site free to use, so I'll add in a comment to help the ad revenue.

Aren't all files coming from the camera straight out of camera, processed or not?

Shouldn't we use the term "No further editing from user" NFEFU, and "Edited external from camera" EEFC?

If you don't like a topic, move on; don't comment, don't read, don't whine about it.

The old saying "Take it don't Make it" just doesn't apply in our digital world but it is still worth trying to achieve.
