There are chargers ... and tthere are chargers.
There are solar chargers. And flexible solar chargers, like for the back of a backpack.
There are ciggie USB converters, that'll charge up to three rSB ports.
There are 8-battery 18650 packs, that'll keep you unit running, and charging, at the same time. (Gots one!) My 1.5 hr phone ran for 3, was more charged after, and the pack was 3/4+ full.
Get a good 2 battery charger (check the amp rates) that'll fit the wall socket where you're going.
*I already screwed up 1 Meike grip, working on 2x2 18650 batteries to give me 3+ Nikon battery's amp hours. I'll still have 2x AA battery grip units.

Don't forget that Power Banks are quite heavy, l have 4 spare batteries and very run out, you also can fall back to wife's camera and as a last resort there's always your phone camera,

I have a couple of solar chargers. They are useless and take days to charge to any sort of level.

Unless your tour company is run by Moe, Curly and a guy named Larry .... you will have access to power for charging at night.

NO, the battery is 7 volts and the USB is only 5 volts that is why you cannot find such a charger.

The Li-ion battery voltage is 7.2 so the mains charger must have a circuit to reduce the voltage. The only mains advantage would be the time to fully charge. As charging means moving Li ions from one place to another, such can not be too fast so as to avoid dendritic growth. Such is what ‘killed’ so many NiCd batteries. Pre-charged blocks are one-trick ponies if not rechargeable.

Do your charger units allow power sourcing from a usb type plug? I don't shoot Nikon, but Canon battery chargers plug into a 110-240 outlet. I have used the Paul C Buff Vagabond battery to recharge before. Once, I plugged into a UPS battery backup before I had a Vagabond.

On trips, I always have at least 3 charged batteries available for each day's excursion.

Personally, I ONLY use OEM batteries. My choice! When going on the trip-of-a-lifetime, I would, personally, not cheap out on the things that would be likely to make it more memorable. Whatever you do, make sure you have the proper power adaptors for the countries you will be visiting. The trip planner is your friend here. Ask lots of question. Best of luck.

I used this one when I was in Iceland in the highlands. I would suggest you purchase a couple more batteries. The USB charger works but it's slow. I always kept 2 batteries charging in this when I had the chance and kept 2 others with me to shoot. It worked OK.

Yes, it shows there are products out there for that purpose, but I thought it would be slow. Thanks for confirming that. Personally, I like my Vagabond battery when out in the field away from plug outlets. I can recharge with a converter in my car and use it as an AC source. Since I only have one, I have used a UPS for powering another monolight when needed. Of course, if you have access to a car outlet, you can just charge from a converter.

Nikon has upped the ante on prohibiting competitor batteries on their newer cameras. My Z6 pointedly refuses non-Nikon batteries that worked great on my D800. If they can I suspect they’ll implement this on firmware upgrades.

Yup, Sony tried that on their last firmware update. Off brand batteries still work however. The firmware update only issues a WARNING that your non branded battery may not work.

BTW: I only use OEM batteries. They hold their charge better, too.

My partner and I are planning a Safari trip next year where opportunities to recharge camera batteries will be limited with a lot of time spent in tents with no power. I have a Nikon D500 and my partner has inherited my old D7200, both of which use the Nikon EN-EL15 battery. However, with limited opportunities to recharge batteries and not wanting to splash out on too many extra units are thinking of using Power Blocks(Anker Powercore 201000- 20000 Ultra High Capacity Powerbank), for back up battery charging while travelling around. I currently have two original Nikon batteries and my partner has 3 batteries, one of which is a Duracell unit. Interestingly, the Duracell battery seems to work fine in the D7200, but not in the D500. Cutting to the chase, I plan to buy a couple of USB chargers to plug into the Powerbanks, but I am not sure whether this will work for the Nikon EN-EL15's. I believe the Duracell batteries will charge in this way, but not sure about the Nikons. I am also thinking of getting a couple of spare Duracell batteries for my partners D7200 and a couple of spare Nikon batteries for my D500. Not a cheap option and probably the only time I will need to carry 4 batteries. Any thoughts on whether this will be okay? Any other ideas would be welcomed.

Safari trip sounds like you are going to have a lot of sunlight. In Alaska I often go on 6 to 8 week long canoe trips with no source of any power for recharging camera batteries. I use a POWERADD (www.poweradd.com) 40Watt solar power kit. This weights around 2 pounds, folded up it is 13x7x2 inches. It has a 5V 2.1A USB output plus an 18V 2.2A DC output. Working temperture is from 20º C to 60ºC. I only take 3 backup batteries for my camera and this solar panel has always had batteries charged up for me. Also for my GPS unit, my Kindel, and some rechargeable AA and AAA batteries for flashlights and any other electronic gaget I happen to have along.

I found a Nikon battery charger for less than $8.00. I always use Nikon batteries and Nikon chargers. Never an issue.

Combine this with any of a number of USB 12 Volt cigarette adapters and you can charge 2 batteries while you are in the safari vehicle:

https://www.amazon.com/Wasabi-Power-Battery-Charger-EN-EL15/dp/B01HFOJS2O/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=nikon+en-el15+battery+charger+wasabi&qid=1570996609&sr=8-5

The circuitry inside the charger boosts the voltage so that the 5V input can charge the higher battery voltage. There may also be chargers that work with the 12V directly.

Airlines restrict Li batteries (like the USB backup batteries) to one 100 Whr capacity battery per passenger. You and your wife could each have one.

I have 4 Nikon batteries and a 12 volt adapter for my Nikon charger. Let's me charge during the day in the vehicle. Most all are 12 volt positive ground. If not it won't work. My adapter plugs in a Cig lighter power port of connects directly to the battery.
