I think it would have helped if your model had a better makeup on her skin.

I do like the skin tones better here. Now, retouch the stray hairs on her face and the sore on her lip. Don't worry about the jewelry, it's her choice to look that way.

It is not a sore but a birthmark...Yet this one of the thing I have to ask her, remove it or not.

As to the hairs, I am always reluctant to make a person too 'neat'.

No. What I need are non 'trained' eyes that can be critical if asked.

Why would she need ANY makeup? Her skin is almost perfect. I know this girl since she is 13. She is about to be 18, next month? Eyeliner is all she wears, her choice.

Quite honestly, I am not a fan of 'painted girls'.

Okay, birthmark removal is taboo unless requested, but there should be no problem with the prominent flyaway hairs. I don't think it would make her too neat to get the hairs off her chin and her right cheek, and then just kind of tidy up the mess on her left side. I would not have hesitated to do that, but it is your call, after all...

No worries, I asked for feedback. That the hair 'approach' is different does not remove anything from your justified comment.

I just removed a few hairs...
- The one reaching toward her lips
- The two on her left cheek.
- On her right side, near her eye, I shortened a couple.

After walking away for a few minutes, I decided to undo my hair edit on the right side. It erased some of her freckles that were underneath.
I removed some near the left corner of her right eye.

A few more minutes later, I returned to the image and noticed that the hair near her lips had a faint shadow!!! I had to remove that too.

Different process with better results on the skin...

RGB image, using an IMG tag. I should have done that from the get go, sorry.

Curmudgeon, I used your suggestions.

The processing you applied from the 'constructive criticisms' has really enhanced the image from the original capture! I'm not overly fond of the piercings, but those (and tattoos) do not define a person. She is a beautiful young woman and you have captured her wonderfully. This is not a photo for Vogue magazine, but it is a very fine photo. Her eyes are gorgeous, and she should be very pleased with the result. (She has that faint, 'Mona Lisa' smile going on, as well!)

No, this is the gallery.

Some folks want an honest feedback, not ooooh or aaaah. The gallery feedback should both positive and negative.

I want the negative as it is the only way one can grow.

I don't remember ever seeing negative feedback in the Gallery. Much more often feedback is excessive unnecessarily positive

Go ahead.

After reading your post, I have an issue with the image... I left too much over her head. I cropped it and run into another issue... With PS CC!!! It creates an empty pixel column!

I corrected it using the spot healing tool. The correction is invisible.

2 posts...

- Original (after crop and reduction in order to post on UHH)
- Corrected version (includes all issue when the capture was made)

Please DL (RGB Image)

Sorry, but this really does not work for me. The image is frankly out of balance.

Thanks for looking anyway. I think it's just one of my personal quirks, I just don't like parts to be cut off of subjects. I never claimed to be an artist.
