Alabama Supreme Court Rules That Frozen Embryos Are 'Children'...

Push this just a little and if a parent decides to let go of their embryos, and you have multiple murder in the first degree. Then if anything happens you have causing death by negligence...

Potential parent are suing because of a hospital mishaps that led to the destruction of their embryos.

When will the insanity stop?

If this is moronic decision is held, I hope someone will sue the parents for child abuse since they kept them frozen in time. Then there is the issue of child abandonment to a third party.

“[T]he Wrongful Death of a Minor Act is sweeping and unqualified. It applies to all children, born and unborn, without limitation,” the ruling said. “It is not the role of this Court to craft a new limitation based on our own view of what is or is not wise public policy. That is especially true where, as here, the People of this State have adopted a Constitutional amendment directly aimed at stopping courts from excluding ‘unborn life’ from legal protection.”

The ruling pointed to the Alabama Constitution Section 36.06, which argues that each person was made in God’s image, meaning each life has an incalculable value that “cannot be wrongfully destroyed without incurring the wrath of a holy God.”

And here we have it...

God is now the US legislator.

Praise the lord!

Dissenters will be damned (if not killed by some fool with a gun).

There's no established "state" religion in the US Constitution. To say that there is a separation of church and state is a non-starter. Our "state" is created from Judaeo-Christian concepts; and those concepts are practiced in churches, temples, and synagogues all the time.

That so-called "wall of separation" is made of whole cloth by US Supreme Court Justice Robert Jackson, based upon an obscure letter Thomas Jefferson wrote to the Danbury Baptists.

That line about God's image should be struck from their Constitution.
Which god would that be?
What is the parents are Pastafarians?
Are all Budhist children fat?
What if you worship Satan?
Another ridiculous law written by people in red states to take away the rights of women.

A couple divorces, they have frozen embryos.

They both wanted them destroyed... Premeditated murder. Anyone who destroy them becomes a criminal, an assassin, a murderer for hire.

One wants them destroyed. The other does not... Let's see how this will play out.

Yeah and what implications are those? You really don't think about the rights of the of a couples whose embryos were destroyed. Maybe that was their last chance to have a child

Okay Rac, I'll give this a try.
When a couple goes to a fertility clinic because they can't conceive and sign up for invitro fertilization, eggs are harvested from the female, and sperm is collected from the male.
The eggs are then fertilized outside the human body and thus become by definition, "embryos".
In no clinic in the nation is only one egg harvested as they might need a couple of tries to get one that is viable. Let's for argument's sake say that they fertilize six eggs. Let's also imagine that this couple is extremely lucky and the egg gets implanted on the first round.
This would then leave five fertilized eggs left, which by definition are considered embryos.
To date, it is estimated that nearly 12 million babies are born from invitro fertilization. Considering the failure rate, that could mean as many as 60 million embryos are still in the fridge.
If not destroy them, what would you like to do with them?
How many children can I put you down to adopt?

What an erroneous and bloviated nonsense deflection. So your excuse is that there is gonna be too many embryos where we’re gonna put them? So therefore it’s OK to kill him? What idiocy. By the way, I know exactly what an embryo is.
