I don't use manuals on the go. But the manuals I talked about are really not photographic gear manuals as I would learn about the photogear well enough that I wouldn't need the manual on trips. The manuals I was talking about are those for machinery I have to troubleshoot or service in the field.
Haha, my camera and I are not connected at the hip.
I forget stuff....
I don't use the manual all the time, but it's there if I want it.
It doesn't take up much space either.
If you have the Lightroom mobile app, you can load your photos into LR and choose which ones you want to bring into the computer. Saves a bit of time by deleting poor shots via the phone.

What do you mean by "Live" Do you mean to have the phone turned on ? That's the only way I can get into the computer from my phone.

plug the phone into the computer find the directory with the pix.
click down load THEN on your phone look for a message asking if its ok to download.
say yes and thats all there is but this is an A14 galaxy
I download the phone photos to a flash drive and then download from there to any computer we want to save them on. Flash drives are available to suit many of the USB connections used. The one I got has one connection for the Apple phone and another for the large USBs, both on the one flash drive. The one I bought is from Blanbok+. Also has a connector to go to the smaller USB.
I have the Samsung S23Ultra and an HP laptop so it may be different but here is how it works for me. When I connect it with a USB cable it pops up where I double click on internal storage (as there is no external storage) then click on DCIM then click on camera. All photos show and I can select and slide the ones I want to a folder.
My older Samsung phone worked the same except I had all photos on a memory card, so I'd click on external storage.
I hope this helps. If not try Samsung help line 800-726-7864.

I have an S-9. I plug it into my computer, select it from the list, select DCIM, then camera. To click camera first doesn't work for some reason. The newest photos are toward the bottom, oldest at the top. Then select the photos you want to move and select the location. When attaching to an email, I can do only one photo at a time, then I have to repeat the whole process.

No, I have a Dell.
Workflow from my Samsung S23 to my Dell XPS8930:
Plug a QUALITY USB-C to USB A Cable into the Computer. [Some Cheap cords are charge only no data!]
Plug the USB-C end into your Samsung Phone.
The Computer will Acknowledge the Phone Connection.
You will see a blank screen titled "This folder is empty"
Unlock your Phone
You will now see a icon for a Hard Driv titled Internal Storage
Double Click on this
Open DCIM Folder
You will see several Folders
Open the CAMERA Folder
You should now see all of yor photos with Date Coded Numeric headers.
You can now copy these to your Computer!
Good Luck!
That process works for me.
I haven’t purchased the correct cord, yet.
It’s a little slow, as my (Yahoo) provider only allows minimal data transfers.
I’ll have to work out a better plan.

Can anyone tell me how I can download photos from my Samsung Galaxy S8 android phone to my computer using a USB cable? The photos reside in two places, an app called Photos where they go if I take them with the camera, and an app called Gallery where they go if I save them from some other source. When I connect the phone to the computer, the computer recognizes it, apparently as a drive, but can't see any folders or subfolders.
Thanks in advance.
There are three ways I know of:
1 open or download DEX app on your computer, it will mirror the phone screen on the computer and act like a drive.
2 go to USB preferences on the phone and change the settings from charge phone to download files.
3 email the images to yourself and open them on the computer.
Try using the cable that comes with your phone charger. I have a Galaxy A50 and a “regular” USB-C cable wouldn’t work, but the phone charger cable does. You may have to hunt through your phone’s folders to find your pics.
I am running this file transfer as I write. It will take a while, but instructions were clear and it's working perfectly. Thanks
Probably a better way exists - but I just eMail (full size) to me and then screen copy - have never had any problem - in fact I'll be working on one for a contest this morning
I gave up on that long ago now I just email them to my self.
