Can anyone tell me how I can download photos from my Samsung Galaxy S8 android phone to my computer using a USB cable? The photos reside in two places, an app called Photos where they go if I take them with the camera, and an app called Gallery where they go if I save them from some other source. When I connect the phone to the computer, the computer recognizes it, apparently as a drive, but can't see any folders or subfolders.

Thanks in advance.

That you reference the app "Photos," I sense the computer you're using is an Apple, correct? If so, Apple includes an app called "Image Capture" that should allow you to select the photos on your phone and download them to a folder on your computer of your choice. From there you can use whatever editing program you wish. I do not use Samsung phones, so YMMV.

On the phone you have to allow the PC to access it.

Yes, and the prompt is on the phone. Look at the phone after you make the connection.

Easiest way without wires is to download Send Anywhere to both devices. They connect by wifi.....very reliable and works great evertime
