My computer sees my phone (when attached) as another drive. I simply open that drive and move things to where I want them just as I would do from any other drive.

Find out where, specifically, your photos reside on the S8. On my S23+, they are at S23/Card/DCIM/Camera. Connect your phone to your PC via the cable. Next, and very importantly, unlock your phono by entering the password or fingerprint impression. Go to the photo location(s) and drag-and-drop the photos to your PC.

Thank you for your response. Appreciated.
You know there is a manual, right?
Anyway, once you see the phone icon in your computer you just need to go into the network connection, select USB properties and select transfer file.
If you do not know where that is, just use the search funccton and ask for USB properties.
Simple enough IF YOU READ THE MANUAL.
As to the location? DCIM directory.

Thank you. No, I do not have a manual. I have had this phone for a very long time. It did not come with a manual.
I have a Samsung phone and a Nikon 3500. I use the Nikon program Snapbridge to transfer photos from my Nikon to my cell phone. A nice thing about Snapbridge is that it, also, lets me trigger my camera remotely, which is great for taking group photos when you want to be in the photo. Snap bridge will also wirelessly transfer photos to my phone with minimal battery drain. I recommend this free application.

Become self-sufficient instead of relying on others. You will never learn anything going your way.

Yes, and the prompt is on the phone. Look at the phone after you make the connection.
Yup.
The first time I connected my S21 (Android) phone to my computer, Explorer saw nothing.
Disconnected, re-connected, nothing.
Then I decided to tap the phone to turn on the display.
Low and behold, the display was asking for permission for my computer to access the files.
I granted, pouf, there they were.
My phone remembers my computer now and I can simply access the folders on the phone when connected.
I was surprised that the phone didn't light up to show me the permission request.......
(I don't remember my S-III doing that.)

The manual for the OPs phone is 215 pages long. While not arguing against reading product manuals, there is nothing wrong with asking a simple question for a simple answer here. People do it all of the time and appreciate the time given to them by others.

Agreed. Went to the on-line manual. Nothing in the Table of Contents on how to download photos to another devise, and nothing in the section on the Gallery, either.

If someone asks a "how to" question and I know, I am happy to share my knowledge. That's a benefit of a forum.
