...before the weather closes in.

The cow and the background are originally a single silhouette shot, taken by the roadside on Dartmoor. I wanted to pop the farmer character in but the cow needed moving along a bit. Remembering what Fstop told us a while back about his use of Generative Fill in Ps, I used the Select Subject tool and copied the cow to its own layer. Turned that layer off, drew a selection around the cow loosely with the Lasso Tool, and told Generative Fill to do its worst - presto!, cow disappears and a bit of grass pops up where she was. Turned the copied cow layer back on, selected the Move Tool and, using the left arrow on the keyboard, moved her along to where I wanted her. Then I brought in the farmer already cut-out), attached a Curves layer to him, grabbed the top right corner of the curve line and pulled it straight to the Bottom. Job Done. Hope you find it of interest.

" Job Done. Hope you find it of interest."

Interesting was your battle with modern AI that thinks it know best and is a bit too independent ignoring our wishes.

One must give credit to a thing that is a magician and can say "presto!, cow disappears and a bit of grass pops up where she was." The old standard of computers was one that could win at chess against a human. Making a cow disappear is well beyond that... then topping that off growing grass... a marvel triumph...defeating Magnetoman and denting the great British Empire that with suicidal intent left the EU. Since leaving some say the island has drifted further into the foreboding North Sea.

You were easily defeated by AI... making a cow disappear is a step beyond the historic event..."After 50 years of research and development "in a battle of wits between man and machine. When the machine finally prevailed in 1997, the artificial intelligence field and scientific community marveled at their own triumph." Deep Blue won.. "machine finally prevailed in 1997" [referenced below]

Ending up with the colorless cow and Mr Peanut is a shallow victory... Victory none the less, my hat is off to you magnetoman... altho, I do not have a hat.

the orientation cow and Mr Peanut on the right facing left is correct... since they are "going back home"... back to the past.

Clever perfection! Everything works, including the relative size and distance of the landscape, both to the figures and to the big threatening sky.

Is the farmer one of yours or AI-generated? His hat and skinny limbs reminded me immediately of Scrooge, with a dash of the Grinch

Fun shot Dave. Kind of a weird farmer skinny limbs and a top hat but of course he makes the shot. Be careful with that AI stuff, it can be addicting

Not at all Don. Defeat? This was fully controlled. I’ve mastered Generative Fill. I’ll never have another problem with stuff in the wrong place! Well, not until the next time perhaps, by then Adobe will have updated Beta yet again and only the gods know what will happen!

Relative size is actually only relevant to the farmer Linda, everything else was taken in one shot - just composition is relevant in the sense you’re referring to, if you see what I mean? The farmer fellow appeared in one of my more ‘composited’ composites way back - https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-517679-1.html
He’s the Hanson Cab Driver and belongs to an Aardman Animations film (stop-motion stuff) that my daughter worked on. She was putting the final touches to him over a weekend and brought him home. I snitched a few shots - think he was in Pirates Adventure with Scientists or some such. We did get invited to the premier but I think the film flopped! It seems an archaic method of film making given modern CGI, but has a big following. Her husband is a Senior Lecturer in the method at the local art Uni!
Thanks for the nice comments!

Thanks Jack! Don’t worry, I’m totally cool with this AI stuff, as long as I stay in Ps I can control it. I think!

Thanks very much for clarification and additional information, Dave. Fascinating about the "archaic" animation followers!

Re your comment to Don about mastering Generative Fill, I was just chatting with MinnieV about the same thing. She asked if I had AI, and I said I would have to buy PSE 2024 to get anything like being used in PS, and why would I do that when I still barely know how to use the software I own

With your creative bent you should be using the full Ps programme - and in Beta! Who knows where you could take us all with that at your fingertips Linda - time to spoil yourself!

Very nice of you to say, Dave, but both finances and my aging brain suggest there won't be any changes
