Exactly, this has been my argument for the past year with othe photographers. Personally, I think they are afraid of AI as a replacement to the "Professional Photographer". Almost any person with a little knowledge can now "enhance" or improve a photo. Most turn out to be disasters but hey, they are happy or they wouldn't post them.

Neither the thinking nor the concern is new. Read "I, Robot" by Isaac Asimov (1940) and "The Machine Stops" by E. M. Forrester (1909) The second title is downloadable from several university libraries.

Your desire to succeed as a photographer must be greater than your fear someone with just AI can do it better.

Name lost in translation, stupidified by advertising hype.

Turbo (machine) meant a device that uses a turbine to run & produce power.
Hence there is no reason to put a turbo name there.

Not necessarily.

Here's an example that was pretty famous at one time:

Here is the GM model:

This product passed through several companies...Rockwell, Chrysler, GM, General Electric. Here is the Data Sheet of the GE version:

It all depends. If you are a hobbyist then your success as photographer doesn't depend on what others do. AI or not. But if you want to make a living with photography, AI may or may not take the job away from you. If the clients prefer what AI does then you may have a problem. Just like whether robots can take away your job as an assembly line worker or not.

Ho hum. Any time we use a post processing program to help or enhance a photo we are using at least a rudimentary form of Artificial intelligence. If you are against AI you should never change anything: just use each photo as is from the camera. When you ask your program to sharpen or enlighten or correct something you are depending on the "intelligence" of your program to do it.

I use AI for certain retouching procedures in portraiture- removal of blemishes, and moderate skin smoothing- nothing radical. In commercial work, I use it on certain jobs where the budget does not provide for elaborate locations or props. I start with a good basic shot and add some atmosphere. I do not entirely generate any images from scratch- that work is for digital artists.

Perhaps another or better response would be more specific or instructive, but at least my contribution was not sarcastic, unwelcoming, or demeaning.
I use AI for certain retouching procedures in port... (show quote)

You confirm what I contend.

How does AI work in an editor???
You tell the editor to do change something a certain way, it does as it's told. Programming.
I'm curious, how does the "AI" work in an editor?

Perception?
Your definition/interpretation of AI?

Your comment: When you ask your program to sharpen or enlighten or correct something you are depending on the "intelligence" of your program to do it.
Nope, You are depending on good programming to accomplish the desired task.....
The intelligence of the programmer, not the program....

But I suppose "intelligence" is relative? Or are you using the term loosely.

The real beauty of photography is found in all the unwritten rules.

How do you know it's a rule if it's unwritten? Hearsay is what I would call an unwritten rule. F rules of any kind in photography. Do what makes you happy and don't dun others. Photography is not necessarily meant to please others. Please yourself. If others are pleased by what pleases you so be it.
