I have an open discussion with a "professional photographer" concerning the use of AI in photography. My discussion is this: Does the use of AI in photography affect the reality of photography/the photograph?

It's not the topic, it's the construct of the post. I don't give an F about to who and what the OP has been talking about. You want to talk to me? Then, give me something other than a nonsense update on what you had for breakfast, lunch, what you read on FB, etc. I'm even more suspect the OP's "professional" friend (straw man) than the unprompted details of their breakfast discussion ....

When I started I thought I could take a photograph and it would look like what I saw. I learned that is impossible. I can make the photograph looks in many different ways but never like what I saw in reality. That is actually the most important thing I learned about photography.
