Italy: Tuscany - The Carrara Marble Quarries Part 3

After exploring the first quarry and learning about the mining techniques (see my previous post) we re-boarded the 4x4s to visit a second quarry. Seeing this magnificent stone up close and being able to observe this vast industrial operation was a treat for me and Gail and, as you can imagine, I took many photos from all angles. The clouds were building but fortunately we stayed dry - except when I violated the first rule of photography (not looking down) and stepped into a pool of marble mud, totally covering my new Hokas in white.

I look st those mountains and see mountains. They look at those mountains and see countertops. Very interesting shots. Sorry about your shoes.
