The Nikon Z9 captured 57% of the Pro full frame mirrorless market this past quarter, DESPITE still being in backorder status everywhere. Nikon is still selling them faster than they can make them worldwide.

Yup. Means the company that supports my bottom tier Z outfit might not fold its tent in the near future.

Good news for any manufacturer is good news for users of all marques.

I agree. A healthy competition between the various manufacturers is good for all. Plus I'm not sure UHH could sustain itself absent the brand rivalry.

But you still think Nikon artificially not shipping enough cameras to increase sales?

Whether artificial or not I still say scarcity marketing works!

Oh come on Paul, I thought you would be doing a Canon advertisement, replying to a Nikon topic.

I'm keeping my powder dry. Note this newsworthy post is based on: The data is based on a comparison of U.S. unit sales of full-frame mirrorless cameras with an average selling price of $5000 and above in the first three months of the year (2022). I'm not so sure that's professionals buying these pro-priced bodies, certainly not from reading / watching the chatter on UHH.

Not conclusive, but it also sounds like individual sales, which would exclude corporate sales to the big news agencies for use by their professional staff.

And a bit of market reality from the company's latest (4/1/2021 - 3/31/2022) financial report:

They shipped 700,000 bodies (down 16.67% from previous year), 1.27 million lenses (down 5.93%) and 190,000 compacts (down 26.92%).
